Picked up Welcome to the jungle (The Rundown to you guys in the US)

Just wondering if any other people in the uk has picked this up yet. The Pq is really good ont his and i think sony has done a good transfer on this one.

What audio codec is on there? I noticed that We Own The Night had a regular old TrueHD track and I'd like to think the studio that headlines the BDA altogether would use a track that shows BD's full potential.

It was a pretty good movie but I am debating whether it is worth importing any longer since it is probably hours or days before Universal enters the Blu-ray fold.

I owned the HD DVD it was

Bitrate : 18mbits VC1 AVG
Sound : DD Plus 1.5mbits/24bit

Here we have

Bitrate : Unknow but it's Sony AVC.. so probably AVG 24 with peak a 35
Audio ; English TrueHD 5.1 ...

I'am pretty sure that if Universal do Blu-ray it gonna be the same encode as the HD DVD and DD 640kbps or something like that. I doubt Universal re transfert the sound..

It's about 30$ (Canadian) (including Shipping) if you import it from sendit.com ... witch is nice for an import since a lot of title here in canada are 29.99-34.99

It's the original name.. it was changed in the US to The Rundown..

I went ahead and ordered it from Sendit.com. Universal's past track record is a mixed bag and the UK release comes courtesy of Sony.

Hi, I'm not sure if WttJ is uncut, There was a post on one of dvdtimes.co.uk blu-ray/hi-def forums, (the site may be down as i can't access it today) but one of the posters states he compared the supposedly uncut blu-ray release to his region 3 uncut dvd and some of the fights are cut.

While the blu-ray is labeled as "15" indicating it should be the 104 min. uncut version, it actually is the cut 102 min. Sony messed up. I checked the time on the UK version to verify this.

Sorry, but I own this on both DVD and Blu-Ray and the Blu Ray is definitely cut - both the bar and jungle fights have had a few minor cuts, although the jungle one is particularly jarring.

The price was right for the HD DVD. Matter of fact I watched this movie last night. Liking the PQ for this one. Content was really better than I expected also! The audio was middle of the road.

Yes, I can confirm that this is an edited version of the film. I will probably replace it once Universal releases a Blu-ray version domestically.
