search toolbar on the Internet explorer diappeared

What the hell, no computer genius here. I accidentally hit something and now my search toolbar keeps disappearing at the top of the screen, it only comes back when i move the pointer to the top of the screen and then it hides itself again. WTF? how do I fix this?

could have done that due to an update.

i hate ie (always have), that's why i use firefox.

Which toolbar is this: Google, Bing, Yahoo, something else? Also, what OS and version of IE are you using?

There are a couple of things you can try:

• Under the menu bar, click on View, Toolbars; ensure that there's a check mark next to the desired toolbar, as well as Lock the Toolbars (see example below taken from my PC). If the check mark isn't there, just click on the item and the check mark should appear.
  
  
  
• Download and reinstall the toolbar. You may want to uninstall the existing version before reinstalling, to ensure that you have a fairly clean slate to work with.
