Screen shot looks above average. Looks like Reliance Home video is serious about the PQ. Can't wait to get a hold of the Bluray.

Darn, pathetic, over the top, southern translated for inner circuits and front benchers. No doubt, it is not Bhansali, art it is Prabhudeva art and direction. As much as I love Prabhu as an actor, I do not quiet appreciate his directorial efforts Every thing in the film is LOUD
I would not waste my time again on BD, one time is more than enough.
It is MASALA DOSSA style DABBANG lol

I thought that would pretty much describe Prabhudeva as an actor too. Subtlety is hardly is forte.

looks DNRed again, judging from the faces. Or maybe this is some sort of standard Bollywood filter?

In the past 2 weeks I have watched some Hindi flicks on BD thanks to NJMTV (great service!). 2 of them happen to be Rowdy Rathore and Singham. They have both left me extremely concerned for the future of Hindi cinema

RR reminded me of the Hindi-remakes-from-South-Indian-trash of the 80’s that bought Sridevi to the Hindi speaking masses and made a stereotype of a decent actor like Jeetendra! You know, the “Himmatwaala” kind! I am a South Indian so I say that without any sense of bigotry. It’s a pain to sit thru loud Tamil movies that are filled with irritating side-shows and cheap slapstick. Bringing that over to Hindi in a big-budget format is just 10 times more terrible!

I am planning to watch Shaitaan tonight on BD, hopefully it will wipe out some of the bad memories the aforementioned movies have left!

Anyway both BD’s were authored well so I guess the only bright side to this entire thing is the authoring companies have stepped up on their game.

Well said. 100% agree with you. I for one truly hate this 'happening' trend from the depth of my heart. Even if i have to shut my brain completely off, with the exception of Ghajini, i havent been able to tolerate any 're-made' film yet.

prepare for more as son of sardar seems to be exactly in the same genre.

Maryada Ramanna, on which Son of Sardar is based, is a pretty good film. I suspect the remake will be louder and more OTT due to the Punjabification process

Dabangg, i truly believe is a reference material in this regard. The film is exactly almost made like a south Indian film but I dont even for a second feel the south influence in it. It sure is OTT but allthrough the film, sports an authentic north indian flavor in doing so. Thats exactly what is missing in all south indina re-makes. They are taking source material and as it is re-shooting it. There is absolutely zero effort visible in changing the cultural and ethnic dynamics even by the least.

Apparently, people are gulping this kind of s**t with makers minting 100 crores in record days...

Who talks about a film's content these days? Its all about 100 crore club, items songs and many other things I don't even know what they are...some will also go on to the extent saying this is what that represents our culture and to be hoenst, they are not wrong as our culture has definitely changed.

That's where Bollywood really shines. Creating hype and doling out crap to the masses in the name of entertainment!!!

But I hope that the 100 crore earnings trickle down to supporting smaller films that are way more interesting. For every Rowdy Rathore, Wanted or Housefull, if we get one Shanghai or Paan Singh or even Vicky Donor then I guess that's still considered progress

Personally I don't care if bollywood keeps churning out the Rowdy Rathores and Housefulls, as long as the Paan Singh Tomars and Vicky Donors keep rolling out too. It's not like Hollywood does not make it's share of crap movies. It's just that for a while it seemed bollywood only made crap movies. So I definately think that things have changed for the better in the last few years and things are looking even rosier for the future.

There's definitely progress. That's coming from someone who just stopped watching hindi movies for about 10 years but who now actually wants to see around 10 hindi films a year

QUESTION - Does anybody have a sound delay glitch where the sound does not match the speaking words? I am curious as to whether this is in all the copies or I just got a defective one.
