I assume you mean you hope the US release is the same transfer as the Japanese. I agree.

Either way, I hope to see screenshot comparisons, especially if Sentai wind up doing their own transfer. It'll help me decide whether to get the US release or go for the eventual HK one.

I have a question about the blu-ray release of Totoro (sorry if this has already been answered). Are the English subtitles included translated subtitles (meaning they follow the Japanese script) or dubtitles? I've always wanted to watch Totoro with the Japanese audio and translated subs, but IIRC the English releases of Totoro all contain dubtitles as does the Japanese DVD release of Totoro. I was really hoping that the blu-ray release of Totoro would finally have translated subs rather than dubtitles again.

I updated the Grave of the Fireflies entry with detailed info (+picture) on the extras of the Japanese release.

The names of each extra might not be accurate. If someone wants to translate them I can update the first post with the proper titles.

I did see that it said it had subtitles. Honestly, it was mainly just me being paranoid and wanting to confirm that they were translated subs. Like I said, I've always wanted to watch Totoro with the original Japanese audio. Looks like I'll finally get that chance. Thank you for the reply.

Most unlikely.

This would be the first time for a french Ghibli title and sources like Amazon.fr and Nausicaa.net only list french subtitles.

But of course I don't know it for sure.

A lot. I've seen prices ranging from $70 to $90.
