United Kingdom Amazon.de for UK buyers

I looked back and could not see a specific Amazon.de thread so I wanted to ask the opinion of UK buyers about their experiences.

I just picked up 2 steelbooks - Paul Steelbook [Blu-ray] [Limited Edition]" EUR 14.52

Paul Blu-ray SteelBook German - YouTube

& Pulp Fiction - Steelbook Collection EUR 13.99

Considering the price the UK versions sell for (and out of my price range I ought say) - the shipping was a decent EUR 3.63 , I figured these were a good deal. I was looking for as little German text (especially on the front.) What are buyer experiences with Amazon.de - are they generally good or bad?

Always had fantastic service from Amazon.de. Steelbooks are always packaged extremely well and their delivery times are impeccable. I normally receive stuff 2 days after dispatch. No complaints here.

Though I'm in the netherlands I have only good experience with amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.com and amazon.uk.

I've ordered 3 from the Rattatouile, Captain America and Hangover 2 all seperatly and all have turned up in a couple of days all packed really well with no real chance of damage, i will with no problem at all use them again many times.

Always had good experiences with them. TBH the only bad ones I've had are with Amazon.ca and their rubbish packaging (several damaged steels including a Kick Ass that was literally in pieces), and co.uk, who sent me the initial copy of Batman Begins/Dark Knight with a shipping label stuck directly to the blu-ray with no other packaging!

Consistently good for me, I probably average 8-10 orders a year and they've all been quickly despatched and well packed. I've never had a damaged steelbook from them.

Never had a problem with amazon.de. Or amazon.fr and .es come to that.

That should actually be an impossiblity when buying direct from Amazon.de or any EU company. There is no extra import fees to pay within the EU.

I thought that might be the case, but I don't trust HMRC!

Never bought from them as I was also unsure of their service but sounds like it's actually really good. I've looked around the site and at prices etc. before but might have a closer look later on tonight.

EDIT: Quick question, is the delivery charge based upon a % of the total?

Used them a couple of times to grab some great bargins, always been well packed and arrive quickly, often before Play.com items ordered at the same time.

At Amazon.de postage is now €3. I believe they add €0.5 for each additional kg.

Placed my first order on Amazon.de a few weeks ago for The Terminator Steelbook. Hopefully it has nice artwork and arrives in good condition.
