Really? I'm surprised - every review I've read of BB says that it's one of the best, if not THE best, HD-DVDs available for both picture and sound

Its OK at best. Doesnt hold a candle to the top tier BD's tho.

Batman looked soft in the IMAX presentation I saw. The Samsung demo had sharper edges.

Maybe they are watching it at 4 to 6 Picture Heights and/or on a 720p display. Has enough sharpness for that.

Now try watching the HD DVD at 1.5 to 2 PH with a 1080p projector on a 2.40 wide screen.

Try increasing the sharpness on the player or display controls till you reach a limit of compression noise you can stand. Maybe you'll enjoy watching it a little more that way

A dark and grainy gritty Batman might be better than a soft Batman

I'm such a huge Batman Begins fan and I'm just absolutaly dying for this to be released. But I'd rather WB get the BD version right that a crappy release.

Default And where and where is the Batman Begins?

So when is Warner Brothers going to release Batman Begins on Blu-ray. I recently picked up a blu-ray player because I believe blu-ray will win out over HD DVD. However, HD DVD seems to have a lot of my favorite movies that Blu-ray does not. I want The Thing, The Hulk, Van Helsing, Hannibal, An American Werewolf In London, Terminator 3, Hellboy, Chronicles of Riddick, Pitchblack, Gladiator, Highlander, Alien Quadrilogy, Star Wars Septilogy, Tim Bandits, Troy, True Lies, Robocop, Hollowman, Highwaymen, The Professional, Sin City, Men In Black and Men In Black II, but to name a few of my favs. I know, I know a lot of these are Universal titles. What is blu-ray waiting for. If they wanna blow HD DVD out of the water just use the big guns the Alien Quadrilogy and the Star Wars Septilogy...

your thread will be merged with this one

It's a Warner catch-up that will show up eventually.

I was under the impression that the Dolby True HD track was HD DVDs version of BDs PCM. considering you cant get true HD on BD, but instead get PCM.

Not true. You can get LPCM, TrueHD and HDMA on both formats.

There are more Dolby Digital Plus and TrueHD audio tracks on HD-DVD than on BD. TrueHD on HD-DVD is at 16-bit 48kHz.

There are more LPCM and DTS HDMA audio tracks on BD than on BD. Both tracks are at 48kHz at either 16-bit or 24-bit.

Warner is putting money into there "in-movie experience" for Harry potter , and Matrix Trilogy. And for some reason there only releasing those on HD DVD. Rumor from a friend as Suncoast Video New Line is doing the same thing with LOTR Trilogy. And Since Warner Owns New Line it may be True. GOD i hope Not

"In movie experience" will be to slate with "Caribbeans". If Warner have some will, they can release their "in movie experience" titles with blu-ray disc.

Default when will Batman Begins be on BD.................?

anyone know?...I've seen the reviews for the HD-DVD version and am tempted to purchase the add-on for the 360 so I can have this in HD along with a few others.....

Warner is like a thorn in my side....more-so than universal because they are taking forever releasing some of these titles that they already have on HD DVD...
