I don't really like their statement though, on how they'll "monitor Blu-ray adoption" to decide their releases. If they don't see it adopting as fast as they'd like, they may not release some titles right away, like Transformers, and may help downloading in the end...?
you can bet your ass transformers is pressed ready to ship.
i think there statements are made in a way to try not to anger people they dont want people who just bought there hd-dvd titles all flying back to stores for returns.

i wonder if the hd dvd fans will harrass them like we did when they left blu

Now THAT'S what's up! Okay Paramount, now that you're on the winning team (*cough* again *cough*), gimme Transformers with uncompressed audio and you won't get a back-handed pimp-slap!

Seriously though, this bodes quite well for Blu-ray—lookin' forward to Iron Man & Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Blu-rays in the future!

I was really pleased when Universal crossed over, but Paramount (Blu-ray prejudice aside) don't really seem to have quite so much to offer as some of the other studios, so I'm not that excited and think that they probably need Blu-ray more than Blu needs Paramount.

What great films have paramount released exclusively on HD DVD that we haven't been able to watch? I looked it up:

A Mightly Heart
Arctic Tale
Blades of Glory
Face Off
Hot Rod
Next
Old School
Stardust
Zodiac

That's it. We wouldn't really be missing much, would we? I think Universal were the big catch, plenty to look forwards to there.

That somewhat gets under my skin. Am I overreacting to this?
You might be misreading it as I thought the same thing. It's a non commital way of saying they will release BD movies based on demand, which we know will be high. Considering their former position it is hard to just come out and pretend their defection never happened. They are still in good with Toshiba and can't rub their face in it.

They have shown money is what matters and they are rubbing their greedy little hands and can't wait to see sales take off. They made out like bandits.
