Germany The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (Tobe Hooper)

German (or Austrian, not sure) edition will also contain English tracks as well.

Engl. 2.0 "Original Mix" Surround encoded as mixed 1986.
Engl. 5.1 "Mix 2012", highly mixed version with more depth and tonal enhancements.

That artwork is beautiful. More retro VHS style covers like please.

Hopefully Halloween 4 and 5 will be officially announced soon as well, those have been listed for a while as coming from NSM.

The Austrian disc is probably identical to the US one, since there is an MGM logo on the disc.

once again the u.s. fails... i swear we have to rank dead last as far as packaging goes... the screens for the u.s. disc look pretty good so if this one is identical its a no brainer for me!

it's the Austrian Edition. Turbine couldn't get an '18' rating in Germany without cuts,so they are releasing the Austrian Edition first.
An Unrated,German Edition will be released at some point, however. The only problem is the german cinema version was banned at some point so Turbine have to tread carefully and make sure the german release is watertight, legally speaking.

IIRC MGM actually had a new version rated by the FSK,the german ratings board. It was cut by several minutes and ready for release, but for some reason they pulled the plug.
I guess they feared another ban, confiscation and all the trouble that ensues...

It's a great joke, fits with the crazy humor of the film.

Very cool news, thanks Akijama! Gonna get this for sure, and probably trade in my UK Blu-ray of part one for the German collector's edition as well.

For those of you own the German Texas Chainsaw Massacre (either the Austrian 3-disc or German 4-disc versions), is the case in DVD size? I saw a review here
[Show spoiler]
and it seemed rather big. I wonder if Texas 2 will be like that too.

TCM is DVD size and since TCM 2 will be another Blu/DVD combo I guess it will be the same.

The similar BD&DVD Combo releases from Turbine were all DVD Size, so I guess TCM2 will fit into the design of the other releases, and will be DVD size, too.
