Where's Showgirls? - Blu-ray Forum

while I'll admit that i'm not in the HD club (but will be with my upcoming purchase of the PS3), I'll make my first post a question: Where's Showgirls? I'm sure this would make a great BD release being able to see all that so-bad-it's good acting in 1080p and awful-yet-funny dialog in pristine 5.1LPCM?

I gotta agree. I never got it before but if they had it on Blu-Ray I'd run out to get it.

Hopefully all of the masters have been burned (along with Eszterhas' word processor.)

At the time, Eszterhas used a typewriter to write his screenplays. Who knows if he has bought a computer. He certainly doesn't smoke anymore.

EDIT: Well he has his own blog. JoeEszterhas.com I guess the days of the typewriter-screenplays are gone.

Showgirls is one of the greatest worst movies ever!!! Does that make sense? I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. God, what a train wreck, but sooooo worth it.

My thoughts exactly. It's terrible, yet I can't stop watching. My wife loves it too.

You know what would be awesome...

MGM giving you the option of viewing the original NC-17 version of the film or the VH1 television version of the film with CGI bikinis/underwear.

I just popped the DVD in my computer and saw it that's non-anamorphic, ugh! I haven't watched it since getting a big HDTV and now I really don't want to watch the DVD. Say what you want about the movie, but the visuals and audio (especially the soundtrack) were awesome.

It has no chance of being released until someone buys MGM. Then after that, I'm sure it will still be a while.

God if only it wasn't a Hollywood produced movie as Elizabeth Berkley and Gina Gershon are smoking hot in it. Would love to see it on Blu-ray, nice little sparkly film.
