Default Does blockbuster rent Blu-ray by mail?

I just noticed how much cheaper Blockbuster is than Netflix for their rental plans by mail. Does Blockbuster mail out Blu-Ray discs? If so, do they have better availability than Netflix? I'm tired of seeing "very long wait" in my que for Blu-Ray discs.

Yes they do. I have had much better luck getting Blu through Blockbuster than I did with Netflix. Besides, if you cant get a title you want in the mail, you may be able to find it in-store when you exchange.

I have been having great luck recently. In the last couple of weeks I got The Brave One, We Own the Night, No Reservations and In the Valley of Elah all through the mail.

I just joined blockbuster online yesterday, and they already sent out 2 BDs from my queue.
They have a lot of BDs, the only problem is that it's a bit cumbersome to actually add them to your queue. (the front page shows you recommendations and new movies but when you add them it's the DVD version, you have to actually go to a different menu to select the blu-rays). I just emailed them about this problem, if the same issues annoys you guys I'd recommend you do the same, enough emails will make them enhance the UI to be more blu-ray friendly.

I specifically signed up with them a few months ago for BD. So far I've been satisfied. One added bonus I like is the possibility to exchange online BDs with in-store BDs. Something which my local blockbuster stores has quite a few of.

I e-mailed them about a month ago regarding this problem. I suggested that it would be so nice if we could just say we prefer blu-ray, when a movie is available in blu-ray. They wrote back and said, Yeah that would be nice.

Thanks, Art. I ended up finding it before I read your reply.

Another easy way of determining if the title is available on Blu and adding it to your queue is search for title using the Search box at the top of the page. Once you locate the title you're interested in, click on the boxart (picture), then click the "All Editions" tab to see all DVD versions available. If we carry the particular movie in Blu-Ray format, you will see [Blu-Ray] to the right of the title. (this is from help link on the site)

I tried Blockbuster and didn't really care of it. I like Netflix better. Now that BD is the only for mat left I'm pretty sure they'll increase their inventory stock.
In store return is nice but take a ride to your nearest store to check out their stock first. Mine don't really have much. Plus I just don't like to drive to the store and drop the movie off.

didn't Blockbuster just raised their price plane? It came out more than Netflix.

the reason why they have short/very long wait online is cause i'm sure a good 75% return them in store
