Default Another Blind Buy

On March 11th, I am going to make the choice to purchase Gattaca, No Country For Old Men, Michael Clayton and the classic Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow! Old movie I know, but such a good one and a classic. Let me know. Still debating on No Country For Old Men & Michael Clayton though.

No Country for all Men is a fantastic movie. I usually don't like to make recommendations, but the film is deserving of all the praise it is receiving.

By blind buy you mean you've never seen them before right?

Gattaca & No Country For Old Men are 100% must haves imo, whether you've seen them or not.

Just blind bought Michael Clayton, excited to watch it! DEFINITELY getting Gattaca and No Country, both blind buys as well!

Certainly not even considering Hustle and Flow... I try to limit myself to buying GOOD movies.

What people think constitutes a "good" movie is so subjective. I think all of the above are good titles. I heard the transfer on Hustle & Flow wasn't all that great, but the movie itself is very good. There's top notch acting (Terrence Howard is incredible) throughout and I enjoyed the story. I got Sky Captain over a week ago and it was a pleasant surprise. I saw the movie on standard DVD, but looks incredible in high def and the audio is just unbelievable. I think this is one of the more underrated Blu-ray titles currently out there. Check out the review for it here on this site.

Yeah, but it was available on Blu before Paramount defected.

Despite what you've read here Hustle & Flow is rated pretty high on rottentomatoes.com and most critics gave this film high ratings. I guess for some folks it's just not their cup of tea. I think it's a great movie. I can pick this title up at my local Exchange since they still carry it, and I think I'll do just that today.

"But the real brilliance of the film lies in its ability to shatter expectations. Some viewers may hesitate to give 'Hustle & Flow' a try simply because of its thematic elements and investigation of hip-hop culture, but if they make the leap, they'll discover a character study that examines a wide range of social issues."

If you buy No Country make sure you quit watching about 5 minutes before it ends. otherwise the movie will be ruined! thats the best advice i can give regarding this highly, higHLY, hiGHLY, HIGHLY overhyped movie. It was OK, and just OK.

Best movies of the year were There Will be Blood and Juno. In that order too!

I watched Michael Clayton last night and couldn't have been more pleased, great movie. As for NCFOM I will without question be picking it up on release day. Must have. I'd drop the other two before I'd pass on MC and NCFOM.
