USA Subwoofer with remote control? What brands have them? Worth it? Recommendations?

I am looking into purchasing my first Subwoofer and I notice some of them come with a remote control. Is this of value? Does anybody have a setup that includes this that can speak about it's value? What brands have them? I know Denon has a few that have them... is it worth the extra price? Any recommendations?

Here is my current setup...
Denon AVR-1910 Receiver
2 sets of Bose 301 speakers (fronts and rear surrounds)
Polk Audio CS-2 center channel
this will be a 5.1 system

Considerations....
I have a 2 year old so I am thinking a downward firing subwoofer would be the best...
I really like the idea of a remote as I use the stereo system for all audio - TV, Amazon Prime video. I primarily want to use this subwoofer for movies and that is why I would like the option to turn on the subwoofer easily.
Max budget is $500

Setting....
Laminate floors - large oddly shaped room with high ceiling and an adjacent kitchen with open layout. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I do not see the value of a subwoofer with remote control. You normaly set the gain, crossover, and phase of the subwoofer once and forget about it. One of the most important factors in the performance of a subwoofer in a home theater room is its placement. A subwoofer remote doesn't realy offer much help. You need to do it the old fashioned way and hurt your back in the process.

Additionally, you should not continuously play around with the settings of the subwoofer. If you need to adjust something such as speakers/subwoofer(s) levels, crossovers, etc. for any reason, you should do it in the receiver's menu.

There is a thread in another forum on the subject:

Agreed. Also, barring something unusual you can typically set the subwoofer level at its midpoint in the receiver which allows you plenty of bass volume adjustment with a couple clicks of the receiver remote.
