Default TrueHD audio tracks

Ok...little confused...Does your receiver have to be able to decode TrueHD tracks, or does your blu-ray player (in this case, my ps3) do this for you? My receiver doesn't say anything about HD audio...i'm not a big expert in this area...just looking for some help...thanks!

For the PS3/TrueHD, you need a receiver that has an HDMI input and is capable of PCM. If it has an HDMI, chances are good that it'll do PCM.

Ok...I have a Harman Kardon AVR 247 that has HDMI inputs...but the receiver doesn't have anything about decoding the tracks...so you're saying as long as it has an hdmi input, the PS3 will pick up the slack and decode the TrueHD?

You're good with the 247. As long as the PS3 is set to PCM when playing TrueHD tracks it'll work as it's supposed to.

Yes, so long as you set up the PS3 correctly.
