Default Please pay your last respects to HDDVD

http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/...D_Funeral.htmlWe should give HDDVD one last thank you, if for nothing else, helping lower the price of Blu-ray players. Competition is always beneficial for the consumer.

they deserve nothing from me. it was a dying format to begin with, with an intention to prolong the format war. they get nothing from me.

You gotta be kidding. All HD DVD did was cause confusion, and delay the adoption of blu-ray.

oh well, lol...

its just you have no idea no idea how much time, confusion, dollars were wasted on their format. i am sure you do since you support BD, but what i said wasn't intended as an insult toward you or anything, i apologize for the confusion. this war should have ended a long time ago.

Smile A fiitting tribute to HD-DVD

The King is Dead, the King is Dead, Long Live the King! Blu-ray!

If we have learned anything from the death of HD-DVD it is that LIFE goes on and luckily for us, it goes on in BLU!

Anyone know if hd-dvd has a forum too? I want to see their responses and deep yells of anger once they heard the news. I enjoy seeing hd-dvd fanboys squirm.

Maybe Toshiba thought they were gaining wisdom from the VHS / BetaMax war. After all, the cheaper format won.

But back then you HEARD Beta was better, but you really didn't know why. I don't recall EVER reading how many lines of resolution was supported until this forum.

The Internet has changed how people get information. Though much of it can be wrong, even that wrong information can work for you, or against you. In some cases that wrong info merited buyers into HD DVD... in other cases, people knew the truth and chose blu-ray. Still others simply went with the cheapest option.

This war has proven one thing, the majority of the buying public are NOT interested in mostly cheap technology. It is human nature to want the best, and get the best, and gloat over it. You know how many poor people are going into Radio Shack and buying the latest cell phone they must have, though they won't be able to pay for rent? Many of those people end up returning the phone when financial reality slaps them in the face.
