Default Movies with "realism" factor on Blu?

I am talking about movies where you forget that you are watching a movie and every thing looks very real. I know there are not many. At the moment I can only think of these

Gomorrah
City Of God

Below are not exactly look real but close:

Amores Perros
Melancholia
District 9

Please share if you remember any more movies so this list can grow

I'm not sure if I'm thinking the same thing as you, but if were on the same page I was thinking Collateral.

I'm not sure what you mean, since the ones you mentioned look like movies to me.
I find that sometimes digitally photographed movies look overly "real", not in a good way, like the opening scenes in Apocalypto where they used a 360degree shutter on the camera.

It seems to me that our friend Kashif is actually looking for raw and gritty films.

Here are a few I believe you will like, Kashif:

1. Anything by the Dardenne Brothers. For example:

2. You should also experiment with some of John Cassavetes' films, the "Godfather of American Independent Cinema":

3. Another film from one of America's greatest independent filmmakers. This was one of my favorite films in 2011:

4. And a film from yet another iconic American director, Abel Ferrara. I am a very big fan of Mr. Ferrara's work, and loved everything about his latest film.

5. If you are looking for gritty police thrillers, these two films by Olivier Marchal come highly recommended:

6. Argentinean director Pablo Giorgelli's "Las Acacias" won the Camera d'Or Award (for best first film) at the Cannes Film Festival. Terrific film!

7. Arguably director Ferrara's best and most disturbing film:

8. Take a look at Barbet Schroeder's Barfly. I think this is the closest an American film has come to what "poetic realism" was considered during the '80s.

9. This giant classic of World Cinema you should order without hesitating, Kashif. Powerful and very, very relevant film today. Pick the one release you like.

10. I just recently viewed this powerful Austrian film. One of the very best I saw this year, a great companion piece to Revanche.

11. In the UK, realism means Ken Loach. You should see this film, Kashif. A classic.

12. Two films here, one directed by Peter Mullan, the other with him. Devastating cinema.

13. Finally, two films about the dark side of the American Dream:

Pro-B

Love these recommendations, Pro-B. I watched Breathing just recently and it is my favorite film of the year, so far. Was really surprised by it, and would highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it. (According to the collection listings here--I'm the only one that owns it? That doesn't sound right.)

Add in a very good LED picture and many BluRays look 'real-life,' especially ones that use digital recording techniques instead of actual film.

Wonderful film, I agree Coop

Well, I own this film, but I think that our system does not display results from "private" collections.

Battle of Algiers for sure, great movie. Another great one with that gritty realistic feel is "Z" but that hasn't made it to BD yet.

Also if you liked City of God, you should check out City of Men

Hope I got this right.

But this one pulls me always right out my real life and submerges me under water trapped in this steel coffin. Dirty, wet, gritty and rough.

Uh... Hellboy II? I'm just playing along here. Hellboy II does look extremely detailed though.
