United Kingdom Forbrydelsen/The Killing

At last!!!!!!

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/3...ngDetails.html

UK release scheduled. Seems a little expensive and the DVD set is at the same price which seems odd.

The UK transmission starts in November with two episodes every Saturday night, this Blu-ray is released after the final episode is broadcast.

Can't wait to see the original and best Season 1 again.
Love the cover, all hail the jumper!!!!

All three series but even the prospect of Sarah Lund's jumpers in HD aren't enough to make me pay £80. When its down to £50 I'll buy

Much as I'd like to have these on blu, I'm not double-dipping for that price. Especially as I've already got the Australian season 1 boxset with Sofie Grabol's autograph from when I met her at the Edinburgh Festival last year.

Saw these a few weeks back on the upcoming release lists. The DVD is too much for me so the BD's are way too much. All that wool is very tempting in HD though.

Love the series though (even the US one).

It does seem extortionate at £80 for three seasons, even the Amazon £65 is high.

I'm hoping it will drop to maybe £50.

I paid £4.95 for the US season one of the series when Amazon went nuts a few months back. I guess I wouldn't pay more than £25 for the three series so I'll have a long wait....

I wonder how much repeat play they'd get though?

Anybody know if the Arrow BD release of this series are any good? I got The Bridge (Bron/Broen) and was really underwhelmed. It was advertised as 3 disc but was squeezed onto 2. 5.1 was gone and replaced with stereo. Subs were burnt in. These are all downgrades from the Nordic release which are similarly priced.

Have Danish Borgen S1 BD they never released S2 on BD has loads of extras as well but these are NOT English friendly and Swedish Broen S1 BD. for both only the actual episodes have English subtitles which is fine with me. Both very good.

However for The Killing the only option is Arrow's BD as currently no Danish BD so unless they do on the old series like Arrow as a tie in for S3.

I'll wait for a price drop and pick them up, as opposed to buying season 3 on DVD.

£22 a season (from Amazon) doesn't seem too much of a rip off to me but I guess it depends how long a season is?

Given the rave reviews for the show and my love of other Nordic Noir series this one's a "Pre ordered" for me.

Just hoping each season isn't as short as the first season of "Sebastian Bergman" was (3 hours)

I've only watched the US one, which I loved, but by all accounts the original is better, I'll pick it up when it's cheaper

Series one is 20 hours long, series two and three are 10 hours each. Each episode is an hour.

The Danish series is far better than the US. Really no comparison.

Can't wait for S3 which I'll get as soon as I can.

I had better pick it up then, I think the only reason I loved the US one was the fact that Joel Kinnerman was outstanding

Yeah, very good point regarding the Killing, thanks.
The UK Bridge has no extras anyways, so in no way is there any reason to purchase that, especially if you want 5.1 sound or removable subtitles.

Can anybody who owns the Arrow Season 1 or 2 discs confirm if either of these is consistent with those collections?

I have read lot of rave reviews about Danish Series "Forbrydelsen" on IMDB.

Hence I searched for Bluray availability of "Forbrydelsen" (The Killing) on Amazon UK and found that the series will be released on Bluray on 17th december 2012.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008XKY4GU

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-K...Blu-ray/53091/

However, Audio/Subtitle info is not yet available for the release.

Hope English subtitles will be available.

Please keep on updating if somebody has any update regarding this release.

Does anyone have any specs of this release yet by any chance? Like Audio and Subtitle options?

I've only seen this version of The Killing, and only the first season but it was excellent.

As far as I remember series 2,3 has 5.1 DTS-HD audio and non burnt-in subs on BD.
