1. Q Who? 2. Elementary, Dear Data 3. Where Silence Has Lease On #3, I realized only a few years ago that the actor who plays Nagilum is the same guy who plays the police psychiatrist in the Terminator movies (practically freaked me out)! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

TrekCore.com has posted the first part of a new Interview with the CBS TNG-HD-Team. Some interesting stuff in there. For example, the CBS-Team can use the negatives of the movies if it's requiered (like for the Starbase stuff in Season 1) even though Paramount has the rights to the movies and CBS just for the TV-Shows.

parts 2 and 3 are now up!
"TrekCore: Do you find that moving between the different seasons, there are different technical challenges? Is there a different film stock used for different seasons? Wendy Ruiz: The quality of the film does change a little bit between Season 1 and Season 3. In Season 1 the material generally had a lot more grain (and it was a different DP) than we are noticing now in Season 3. So far, for Season 3 [the film has] been in a lot better condition than Season 1. Craig Weiss: I can’t speak specifically, but I know they did change film-stocks – they got better, because when they used the higher ASA [film speed] stocks, if they didn’t have enough light it would get grainy. And I know as time went on, the stocks got better which reduced the amount of grain – as Wendy was saying – and the color looks better, and it improves throughout the seasons. TrekCore: So we can look forward to future seasons being even better quality than the first season? Craig Weiss: Yes" |

You know, people say that the move to HD makes it easier to notice imperfections in Worf's makeup and stuff like that. But I didn't notice any problems until disc 5 in 'Heart of Glory,' the episode with the Klingon renegades. All of their makeup is noticeably inferior to Worf's, particularly the critically injured one at the beginning. Kinda wish they hadn't used such close shots of him, but I guess people couldn't see the weaknesses in makeup on SD televisions.

Part 4 of the TrekCore.com-Interview is online. It confirmed again, that Season 2 is done by another team and not CBS Digital. CBS is allready working on Season 3. It has previsouly been reported that Dan Curry is working on this project. I assume he is part of the team that works for the other company since he is not a member of the CBS-Team. Dan Curry was one of the Visual Effects Supervisors on TNG.

I'm curious to see if there will be any peculiar differences between the seasons that are produced by different companies.
I wonder if they'll be kicking themselves for not doing scans in 4K resolution. Last edited by Livelong420; 10-02-2012 at 03:22 AM. |

So it looks like Seth MacFarlane hosted the "Inside the Writer's Room" featurette with Ron Moore, Brannon Braga and Rene Echevarria that'll be on the Season Three set:

I couldn't believe that Amazon increased the price to $114.86! I figured the price would be going down, not up. I'm glad I got in my pre-order at $90.99, just in case. |

It seems TrekCore.com is doing another interview-series. This time with the "Bosses" of the creative team. They confirmed that seasons 3, 4 and 5 are coming out 2013 and 6 and 7 in 2014.
Also the Season 1 sales numbers of the first week was what there were apparently expecting for the first month! |
