United Kingdom Tarzan 3D Blu-ray (2013) [Region Locked / Free]

I remember hearing about this a while back, then it seems like it just faded out until now. Here's a newly released trailer to it. It's German, but right now that seems to be the only version out.

Thanks for giving me the heads up. I tried to post it in here but for some reason it will only give the link instead of showing the actual video in the post.

I right clicked over the video, select from the highlight box, copy video URL, then paste here. I was logged in with youtube, not sure if that matters.

Great visuals and 3D. Looks cool, thanks for posting.

Cool. Did you have to be logged in at youtube.com to do it, or did the right click 'copy url' thing work? I know I had trouble getting it right awhile back, along with others. I'm thinking you don't have to be logged in.

Yeah, this looks pretty cool. I'd like to see it in 3D when it's available.

I just did the right click on the video, but I was automatically logged in when I did it so I'm not sure if it had an effect on it. I think it's just a hit-and-miss sometimes with the site processing it correctly.

About the movie though, it does look cool. Reception around the internet seems to be mixed, especially about the animation style, but I think it could be interesting.

In what way is this cool? The trailer is essentially a straight rip-off of Disney's Tarzan teaser, and the mo-capped characters look completely separated from the background, and have no natural movement. (They don't look to have any weight...)

This was released to buy in the UK today so I picked it up and watched it just. I really enjoyed it. It's a fun adventure movie with lush visuals. I don't know what all the negative reviews are talking about when they question the quality of the animation as I thought it looked stunning in 3D. The mo cap is superb and the environments look great. The 3D throughout is excellent with a consistent strong 3D presentation. Tons of depth and layers throughout the whole movie. Loads of fluid swooping camera moves too. The story was interesting and there was plenty of exciting actions scenes. I really thought the movie worked. I don't know what critics are talking about sometimes. They seem to find it hard to appreciate a lot of fun adventure movies.

Thanks Levcore.....because of your mini-review i took the plunge and ordered a copy of Tarzan 3d to add to my ever increasing 3d movie collection!

Like many I was "put off" somewhat by the lack-lustre reviews that did the rounds....

Even though it's not as perfect as others might be able to do, it's still a lot better than most of us can create.

The thing is, audiences can be critical about everything that's wrong with a movie they paid to see in the theater, and totally miss the point that movies are made as entertainment. We can spend 2 hours in misery looking for everything wrong, or enjoy it for what it is if that's possible, though not all movies are made for all audiences. And for 3D, it helps if the 3D is at least medium or strong.
Though some enjoy dissecting a movie, so if that's entertaining to them, that is what counts in that case.

Sounds great. I saw news about this in 2D in the US, but sadly no indicator of a 3D release. If I see it though in 3D, I will consider it thanks to your review. Thanks Levcore!

Zivouhr that is very disappointing to hear that the US has once again been denied a 3D release. It really makes no sense to omit such a huge market. I sincerely hope that a 3D release manifests itself, or at least that you are able to import a region A friendly release. Unfortunately the UK release is from a very small distributor who always region locks their titles to B.

Based on the fact we have fairly similar tastes i think you will really enjoy it. As a movie it works better than Legend of Hercules, and obviously shares the similarity of having Kellan Lutz in the lead role. The 3D overall is pretty kickass and the setting looks superb.

Thanks Levcore. I'll keep an eye out for other 3D releases of this movie based on your review of the 3D and film.

That's a shock! (and a pleasant surprise) Amazon.co.uk shows only the Blu-ray 3D case with cover-insert.

Is it possible for you to verify if the Blu-ray 3D is region B Locked?

Last edited by Paul H; 08-29-2014 at 04:17 PM. Reason: cover-insert correction

I saw this movie in 2D and I thought it was absolutely terrible. A very bland movie that isn't the least bit interesting.
