This is such good news. I can't wait to start using this free service. If Sony can keep the updates coming for this program this is going to be a huge year for Sony with Blu-ray, a bunch of triple A titles, and now the launch of Home.

Good find but is this official?

If not then we can only hope it's soon & i can't see a timer, just a home logo with beta down the side when using my PS3 browser

It is more like Second Life... but not as vast.
It is suppose to be free and a way to make an "avatar" you can dress up, play games with, interact with other gamers through, even build your own room and such. Second Life is better, but much much bigger and not aimed toward the PS3 crowd. With Home, you can meet people and then join in online games with them.
Imagine meeting someone online through Home, and deciding to play Warhawk with them.... it's a great way to find and meet teammates.

We should seriously see if we can get the Blu-ray.com group to meet on there. It would be cool if they have things like "guilds" or "groups".

I somehow doubt some person in Sweden has the scoop on when Home will be moving into public beta, when no one else on the planet seems to know (including the people actually in the closed beta).

Sadly the site is not official. Though I believe Home is coming soon, possibly we will get more concrete information regarding it at the upcoming announcement that Harrison is going to make regarding PSN in March.
