I remember it - I timed the subtitles for the DVD release (although much of the film is in English). The manga adaptation by Kia Asamiya was also released in English.

A BD might be possible - we did get Daimajin - but the film probably needs a new HD transfer and I'm not sure anyone is going to spend the money for that.

i live in the uk we didnt get a dvd release. I guess I wont be owning this film anytime soon. My Vhs was english, the dubbing for the guy that chomped on the carrots was hilarious.

I remember the woman actually spoke english but thats it. so long since ive seen this. I cant find my vhs but remember it had this amazing cover with GunHed coming towars the screen with soldiers arround him.

I wonder if Arrow or some other company would ever pick up the rights for this? Seems ripe for a blu-ray!

I really wanted to see this thing as a kid. I remember the ads for it on VHS tapes. Looked cool. But from what I hear is that it wasn't that good.

The japanese Blu-ray looks great. Some label just has to licence the master from Toho and put subtitles on it.

I think the first time I saw this was on Bravo in the UK in the 90's. I have the ADV films DVD but I was really hoping we would have had an English language blu-ray by now. I was so disappointed to find out there were no english subs or dubbing on the Japanese blu-ray.
