Default New Superman Returns Blu-ray listing on Best Buy site?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Superman...rman&lp=2&cp=1

Anyone know exactly what this is? Is it a Best Buy exclusive, another re-release or just a mistake someone made?

Not a great movie but gonna piss me off is this an extended edition as I already have the anthology set. Unlikely as this is probably some kind of repackage.

Just noticed the other Superman films are listed with that date also. Wish they would post details.

Seeing as it's $7.99, there's no way this is some new release with material we don't already have.

For starters, these have been available since 9/11 per Best Buy and are available to ship immediately. If there was something new people would have known about it for a month at least.

Secondly, they're releasing Returns, the first movie (most likely the extended edition) and the Donner cut of the second. This is what Warner Bros. does when they just re-release their standard releases as part of some promo.

Third, there are DVDs included in the re-release as well and you know Warner isn't remastering these on DVD.

So yeah, they're probably already in Best Buy stores with some sort of movie ticket or promo of some kind.

There's a pre-order for a triple feature of 1, 2, and Returns next month. They're trying to dump all of these discs now, so they can release the new discs separately (from the box set) next year to tie in with Man of Steel. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a new Superman Returns disc with the extended footage put back in.

I saw this in-store yesterday, it has a sticker on the front saying that you get a free digital comic with purchase. They had a bunch of DC titles with them.

That digital comic is likely the only difference from the original release.

It's apparently too much to ask, but I'd just like two two-discs set for Superman and Superman II that contain their discs from the box set.

Not true. We have seen Spaceballs and The Princess Bride re-released with more extras and street for under $10.

Keep in mind that the original 2006 release only had AC-3 audio, and it was reprinted somewhere around 2008 to include PCM and TrueHD audio. The HD DVD release included TrueHD, so it's more or less a catch-up.

Those of you who still have the original release might consider this an upgrade. While I'd imagine most of the AC-3 only copies are off of shelves, still worth checking the back to make sure.

I had to get the 2006 release, it was the only one best buy had at the time that was cheaper. The 2008 release seems to always be $29.99. Sound isn't an issue to me anyway, seeing as how I don't have a surround sound system.
