Zavvi question for movies "send within a week" description

This is my first zavvi purchase. Zavvi charge only 1 GBP for overseas shipment so I ordered from them. I purchased a movie "Las Acasias" from Zavvi on 6 october. In the movie description it was written "Availability: Usually dispatched within a week".

But, I didnt get my order dispatched until now. So I need to know from you guys who have ordered goods from Zavvi which has the same description as "Availability: Usually dispatched within a week". When do they usually send it? I mean for how long do I have to wait? I asked their support and they told me that they are waiting for the stock and ask me to bear with them or cancel the order which I dont want as its very cheap on zavvi. Are they taking this order serious and actually have goods on back order or they just making lame excuses so I may force to cancel this order? Please share your experience.

Currently, that description means anywhere between 1-3 weeks.

But there was a period (ie 2 mths prior to now) where Zavvi were ridiculously slow with their shipping and that description meant 1-12 weeks.

Either way items did eventually ship, its a matter of whether you can put up with waiting longer than what they state the wait time to be.

Also, their usually dispatched within 24 hrs description, as of right now, is actually accurate. But again, there were period where even that meant 1-7 days.

They have speeded up getting in stock, but if any title does NOT say 24 hours then expect a long wait, in virtually all cases longer than they state.

If you want an item quicker go elsewhere.

Zavvi are cheap prices but slow to source stock. It is your choice if you are happy with that trade off. They also in most cases fail to send out new release titles on time with them also being delayed despatch as well.

If you want stuff quick don't order from Zavvi.

If it is anything other than 'usually dispatched within 24 hours' they don't have it in stock and you could be in for a long wait.

It usually takes up to 3 weeks. I only use zavvi when it is written In stock | Usually dispatched within 24 hours.

I had The Terminator pre-ordered from Zavvi for some time but it still took 13 days to arrive from despatch date,they are notoriously slow.

Zavvi/Hut all have a bad rep for delivering stuff on time. I heard the problem was that their websites are not linked to their warehouse, so you could be ordering something on the site that says "Dispatched within 24 hours" and it might not even be in stock!

I ordered the Kubrick box set recently which was 'Usually dispatched within a week' & they dispatched it about 3 days later, so they can be quick.

Ha, always two or three weeks with me, but I did get them in the end, & cheaper than from anywhere else.

The best thing to do with Zavvi is if you've ordered a bargain is to order it and forget about it. There's no way to predict how quick you'll get your order unless it says they're in stock and shipping within 24 hours then it usually takes a day or two more than Amazon.

I ordered from them and am very happy, one of the item was 2 weeks behind, but i didn't care as i ended up saving a bit of money and shipping was cheap, they sent my package in perfect condition and i am super happy, the only problem i had was when they charge you once it is dispatched, i had to wait a few days so that was a bit of a hassle.

Agree with what others have posted, only order from them if you are not worried about when it will arrive as it could be weeks or months.

in shocking news I placed an order with 3 blus last night with zavvi to use a 10% off code, woke up this morning and all 3 items had been despatched. First time thats even happened.

I ordered Pokemon White 2 yesterday, and it said usually sent within a month, but it was dispatched later in the day.

They seem to have speeded up despatch but are still using a really slow delivery method. My order which arrived yesterday took a week which was 3 days longer than the delivery estimate they claimed when they sent it to me.

An order I placed on the 20/10 arrived today,the 29/10.
