Default hoping for more old sci-fi

i just got 20 million miles to earth ( no black bars was a welcome surprise ) and now my mom is coming up with movies she saw in theaters that she wants me to get on blu like "the giant claw" even if they don't exist yet. it has taken awile but i think she is finally starting to come around to blu now if i could just get them to go hd ( i have the only hdtv in the house)

i would love to have a collection of the old sci-fi movies on blu, anyone know if there is going to be a pattern of old sci-fi like 20mmte

also anyone heard of the giant claw coming to blu

I want ALL of the horror and sci-fi from the 50s. A zillion awesome movies out there just waiting for BD.

The beast from 20,000 fathoms.
Tarantuala.
Creature from the black lagoon.
The incredible shrinking man.
This Island Earth.
The body snatures.
The Quatermass Experiment.
Them.
The Thing from another world.
From Outer Space.

So many movies, so few BDs.
So far....

Big Daddy, your baby picture seriously disturbs even me. Please grow up soon and up-date it.

Here is something I wanted to add incase anyone was wondering about B&W sci-fi movies on BD. Watch Sin City on DVD sometime. It is by far the nicest looking up-scaled DVD I have watched yet. It looks phenomenal for a DVD.

Since nobody loved my beautiful baby, I put the poor boy up for adoption and replaced it with my all time favorite bad movie "Cheech & Chong's The Corsican Brothers".

Right you are fellow blu blood. All classic Universal Horror without those annoying black bars. I have it all on DVD, but BD will be so much Creepier.

Hate to tell you...30 Days of Night has an aspect ratio of 2.40:1 so you will be getting BLACK BARS.

I agree with you. I'd hope that they take their time, and pump out a stellar transfer much like 2001: A Space Odyssey for this one.

I think it would look amazing, and the movie itself is really excellent. I know that I'd be purchasing it right away.
