Default sub connection?

I am going to buy this cable...http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
My sub has two connections on the back an R and a L/LFE. My receiver has only one connection. Which one do I hook up the cord to on the sub and is this what i need?

one more question, if my speakers have inputs for banana plugs would you hook them up on the speakers too or just do bare wire on the speakers and banana plugs on the receiver?

I'd do banana plugs, if for anything else because it's much less of a pain in the ass to do it that way. On the speaker end it's not that bad, but I hate screwing with the binding posts on the back of the receivers. Not much room to work.
