![]() ![]() ![]() On February 2, 2013, Happinet will release Jean-Jacques Beineix's Betty Blue AKA 37°2 le matin (1986) on Blu-ray in Japan. Information in the Amazon listing suggests this release may be remastered, and it appears that both the theatrical and the director's cut of the film will be included, along with a DVD of extras, in a three-disc 25th Anniversary Edition. Note: This release may be optically censored, due to full-frontal sexual nudity. Quote:

Indeed. The mosaic censoring (if present, in either version) would preclude a purchase for me, but I will nonetheless be very interested to see how this set compares to the releases we already have. Especially as the theatrical cut looks like it will be a BD-25 (i.e. "1層") and then the DC would be a BD-50 (i.e. "2層"), so it might be a case where the theatrical cut is the same master, but obviously, the DC on Blu-ray would be something new.

BTW, I got the JP Andy Warhol Dracula & Frankenstein BDs, and Frankenstein is optically censored. It's the only HD version available, so will have to live with it. PQ and extras on both are fantastic. |

i was also planning to get that one. Just waiting to hear more about this JP one since it might have slightly better PQ.
