I've just added Len Wisemen to my list. I disagree with Roland Emmerich. Love Universal Soldier and Independence Day. Really like Stargate.

Amazing that the worst directors of all time seem to be contemporaries of each other. Filmmaking skills must have dropped like a stone in the last 30 years. Ed Wood's breathing a sigh of relief.

Which just scratches the surface.
And why did he say that? What was the conversation about? Spike is pro black and against all oppression and feels deeply about history and things that happened to black folks. His remarks when in that frame are referred to whites that he feel are racist or were for slavery and racism etc....Some of Spike's best friends are white! Spike is far from being a racist. He just wants to make sure that everyone has there fair shake and sometimes he feel some blacks dont get their fair shake. Other than that he will give a white man an opportunity just as quick as a black man. Dont believe everything u read or take things so literal. Got Em!!

Those in bold are certainly better film-makers than Boll - at least they have some decent films to their name, and have some talent (no matter how minimal some might think that is). I'd even probably say that Dennis Dugan actually makes better films than Boll, and I hate his movies with a passion.

That is far from being the only example and he easily could have phrased it quite differently if he wanted to. We'll just agree to disagree.

I've known people who were racist against black people that also had black friends. Having a black or white friend doesn't suddenly give you the all the clear. You may feel differently which is fine by me.

Oh u are right about people having friends of a different race but still being racist. In Spike's case I have seen and heard him speak so much and know where he is coming from. I can also see how some could feel that he is racist but again he just feels strongly and supports the black community. He used to be in the struggle and went through some things so on experience the subject is very sensitive. He is a smart man and he would be just like those he talk about if he was a racist himself. I dont think he is but like u said we can agree to disagree. Got Em!!

Totally agree with you here, Spike Lee is NOT racist, his films draw attention to important issues that some might not understand, but racist

come on you cant seriously defend Spike Lee's comments, if it was the other way around and Michael Bay said he wanted to pick up a gun and start shooting blacks there would be a mob at his door with torches and pitchforks. no matter what the context you dont make comments like that if you are a public figure, the dude is a massive hypocrite.

Right - and dnt forget that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would come out of their respective dungeons to spew their crap too since they have NO purpose other than to chase down claims of racism. If we all did get along, what would those two do all day?

Its OK to hate certain types of people, primarily Christians, Catholics, and European-based whites. Noone else though. Just saying - those appear to be the rules these days.

I don't claim to be fully read on the subject, but from what I've seen, Lee is very outspoken with views that can easily be interpreted as racist. The shooting quote listed is a small example of his many quotes that can be seen as racist or sparking racial tensions. Add to that his constant complaint that Hollywood is made up singularly of white people making films for other white people and you can see that maybe he has a motive.

+1. Whatever the feeling towards Lee, you cannot ever justify being racist by befriending someone who is the ethnicity you persecute.

First off I asked him where that comment was from and what was the topic at hand? He never responded with an answer so I need more info. Also in history blacks have been in slavery and just over time been mistreated in many ways so its easier for a black man to make certain comments then it is for a white man based on that and what the race has been through. U should know this. Blacks can say a bit more and speak a bit more freely because of what the race has been through. Im not saying its right but its the truth. Just like black comedians talk about white people but u dont really see it the other way around because its just different based on history. I think u get where I am comin from? Anyway bottomline is Spike Lee is not a racist and for those that think so we can just agree to disagree and leave it at that. Got Em!!

White people were slaves as well. So now that you know that, can black people and white people speak the same amount?

Was Spike Lee a slave Would having experience being a slave make it ok for him to spew racist comments? Should a person enslave by a white person hate all white people, even if all white people didn't enslave black people?

Should I have to pay something to a black person who wasn't a slave simply because I am white and another white person had a black slave? Even though I never had a slave of my own of any color?

+1 to this also! It's almost become cool to hate on Christianity and Catholicism on the Internet.

I really don't want to get this too bogged down in racism issues, but, in history, there have been more white slaves than black. People seem to forget that because the black enslavement is much more recent, though.

On that basis, women should be able to slag off men as much as they want and gay guys are permitted to say, 'Let's kill the heterosexuals!' Racism, homophobia and sexism are unjust no matter what.

Dude u barking down the wrong tree. I didnt make the rules or what is acceptable. Just speaking on what I see and on experience. Not saying what is right or wrong. There a lot of things wrong with the world, I was just giving my take on Spike Lee. Got Em!!

Actually over time women have gotten away with more than men. Also when it comes to things like domestic violence, sexual harrassment etc....women are more easily to be believed and sided with when sometimes even they are at fault. Just like lesbians are accepted much more than gay men. Kinda off subject a bit but since u brought up women that is how it works. Again I didnt make the rules or what is acceptable. This was just my take on one director. The world aint perfect. My initial point is that Spike Lee isnt a racist. Got Em!!
