Default So who believes there will be a Paramount announcement tuesday?

Im not saying it wont happen, but we havent heard of a confirmed announcement(s) just a rumor. Now if there is an announcement what do you honestly think will be announced? I doubt it will be a title and date, I think it will be more like, "titles are coming starting..." spring, maybe early summer.

I think odds are pretty good.

I asked Penton and Max.

Neither has responded.

Still boxed up as of Friday. But I think I said Thursday the box was taped up and said "Do not open until Managers approval"

I think when the announcment from Paramount comes, they will announce Transformers, Bee Movie, Sweeny Todd, There Will Be Blood, Cloverfield, and all of the previous titles that they pulled last year. (crossed fingers)

Why would they only list 1 back title? I dont think they will announce Transformers just yet, but I think they will announce Sweeney, Bee Movie, There Will Be Blood, but not Cloverfield. Cloverfield just isnt big enough to get that treatment. It really wasnt good, and was beaten out by a spoof movie in its 2nd week and a 13 year old girls concert by almost 20M in 400 theaters the 3rd week.

I doubt that, I saw it, and know about 20 people who saw it just to see what the monster looked like and didnt expect or see a great movie.

They dont NEEEED to announce anything but the movie that represents your picture.

HM in 3d beating Cloverfield in 1/3 of the amount of theaters is no explanation.

I've not seen anything about any kind of announcement and really just found out about this "rumor." What did I miss?

On the subject of Cloverfield specifically, I personally have no interest, but I think it was a pretty decent hit with a large bit of fans. I know plenty of people that will buy it.

I dont think it will be in the first announcement. Not because it's bad, but rather because it's too early. I think a Cloverfield announcement will more likely come about a month after Paramount's first group of announcements. Should it happen tomorrow of course.

What makes everyone think any announcement is coming tomorrow? They should have done one already but did I miss something someone wrote?

This is Paramount's decision, and it is unlikely that they would inform third parties. I am looking foward to tuesday.

There was a story about this earlier today on another site, but it seems to have disappeared. It said we aren't going to see any Paramount / Dreamworks Blu-rays till summer. Could be a load of nonsense; as I said, the story seems to have been taken down now.

Edit: just done some searching for similar stories elsewhere, and this, for example, says the same thing:
http://www.thetechherald.com/article...-after-March-4

"According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount could start releasing its titles on the competing Blu-ray format as early as this summer."
