YES!! The Star Trek Reading Rainbow episode will be included as bonus content!

I've always loved this segment and it will be great to finally see it in a much better quality then what is on YouTube.

Done! But I'm still hoping for $65.99 plus a $5 GC from Best Buy again.

Can't believe some of the posts over on TrekBBS, some are even claiming the DVDs look better or that it's just an upscale

Sure the effects might not be up to the same level as Season 1 but unless I have missed something don't they make up only a few minutes per episode (if that), the live action footage is just as good as Season 1 and that is where the story is told, not 5 second shots on the Enterprise moving through space.

I am just hoping the audio isn't screwed again lol

I am saddened to see that the season 2 release already has a bit of a grey cloud hanging over it, especially with the audio problems season 1 had.

Personally after reading the reviews and reading some of the posts and seeing the few screen shots available, I would have preferred for all the same hands involved in Season 1 to have been responsible for Season 2, but I am going to reserve my final judgement until we see more.

I for one am eagerly awaiting this release. I got to used to settling down at the end of the night to a nice drink and an episode of TNG HD

Are you referring to the 13 seconds from the screener? That footage has been found and will be on the season 5 set.

don't let the screenshots fool you in regards to how good the effects are. it may be a different look but doesn't mean they won't be good. ultimately, CBS wants to make money off of these so they are not going to let them produce results that are substandard. if that was the case, we would have had upconverted blurays years ago. maybe they are not putting all the love into it that happened on the season 1 set but hey, the people need to sleep too.

Season 1 had several seconds of upscaled footage on episode 'We Will Always Have Paris' but looks like they were able to find every second for Season 2 including 13 minutes of never before seen footage for the extended cut of 'A Measure of a Man'

Ah, that's right. Although if I remember, several was two. Still, nice to have two less seconds of upconverted footage in season two.

I just have to say... just got the set... just literally put disc one in and the Season Three trailer is frickin' out of this world awesome!

Season Three looks feature film good... the newer EXR fine-grain film stock from Kodak that they began using here (and Marvin Rush taking over as DP) really makes the shots pop and stand out in color, density and contrast in ways Seasons 1 & 2 just didn't.

And the VFX are wonderful... really outstanding. Love that opening shot from "Evolution" with the Enterprise falling toward the neutron star and red giant. If you thought the VFX in Season One looked good... this is even better. That is all.

According to the ad posted in the hot deals forum BBY has it advertised for $64.99 next week.

I will not pay $65 for any television season, not even my beloved TNG. For Star Trek OS or TNG, I'm willing to go as high as $50 a season, but even then it's a stretch.

I'm banking on BB doing the $49.99 release week thing again.

I believe they had S1 for $59.99 during release week with a $5 trade-in and save... but that was a unique circumstance. They also had a $10 off on your next purchase when you ordered online.

I don't think either of those two deals are in effect this time.

Man. I just cannot see myself dropping that much cash on a single season.

The review is up.

Unfortunately now that I'm going to be doing a few things for TrekCore, I don't want to get them in trouble by association. I'm going to have to defer to whatever timetable they've been told by CBS to stick to for promotional material to be released.

Don't get me wrong, I really want to show you guys this stuff, but I'm afraid for now you're going to have to do what I did and pay for it to see it (either for the set or by attending the Fathom event). The internet being the way it is, I'm sure screencaps and video of it will eventually surface, but it won't be from me or TrekCore (unless they tell me it's okay).

I think the advancements in video/audio quality justify roughly that price. 70 - 80ish. Nothing more though. Anything more is highway robbery. I can't wait for the rest of the seasons Of course pricing is certainly a matter of opinion. I'm a hardcore trek fan. You won't catch me pirating it, and I will pay for a reasonable asking price.

Any footage from Best of Both Worlds Part 1 in the trailer

Correct, it was never $49.99 in-store. I sold my $10 off coupon to a friend, so the set ultimately only cost me $49.99 plus tax. I'll do $64.99, but I do wish there was at least a $5 trade-in, if not the $10 online GC.

$59.99? try $79.99 in Canada and that is the best deal right now! can't even order from the States because with duty, it will be almost the same.

the few space screenshots from the review look pretty good to me so i have no complaints yet about their work. my only complaint is how much Trek has cost me in the past month. this, the 150 Year Book, the Haynes Klingon Tech manual, TNG/Doctor Who crossover comics - things may not cost anything in the future but Trek is costing me a lot right now!!!!
