I heard Michael Bay will re-shoot most of them and they will be better. More explosions and such.

Good to hear. Gus Van Sant at least made Psycho watchable, so I imagine the Bay versions will be great.

Not sure, but we can enjoy the remake of The Lodger for now. Looks pretty good.

So far it's got:

17 on MetaCritic

11% on RottenTomatoes

Does the banned status of this member bear any resemblance to this thread? I'm guessing so.

I preferred Rear Window's remake to the original because of the character development and depth in the script ... what was the title of that masterpiece remake ... ah yes,

House of the Dead

I adore Alfred Hitchcock (along with Frank Capra and Walt Disney). My faves:

Notorious!
Shadow of a Doubt
Rear Window
North by Northwest
Psycho
The Birds
Strangers on a Train
Spellbound
Vertigo
Lifeboat

Hitchcock has made some absolute classic with Rear Window being my favourite. But, I've got to be honest, some of his movies do nothing for me. The Birds (for example) did nothing for me. No big deal, pretty much all of my favourite directors have made movies I haven't like.
