Default Films you have resisted buying because sub-par

For me Lord of the Rings Extended Edition because of color grading mess up and Star Wars OT because I am now hopeful that Disney will release the unaltered OT in the future.

Plus West Side Story due to audio and video goofs.

I have a few for sure. Most are ones that I kind of want, but I am not paying more than $5 for their present versions.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - MPEG-2 with lossy audio
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - MPEG-2 with lossy audio
Sleepy Hollow - MPEG- 2 with lossy audio
The Color of Money - Horrible transfer
Flight of the Phoenix - MPEG-2
Bull Durham - MPEG-2
Commando - MPEG-2
Crash - MPEG-2 with lossy audio
House of Flying Daggers - MPEG-2
Lord of War - MPEG-2 with lossy audio
Men of Honor - MPEG-2
Silent Hill - MPEG-2 (want the FR release, but I am not paying $50 for it)
Windtalkers - MPEG-2 with inferior theatrical cut

$50 , I just bought it about a month ago from Amazon FR with 3 other titles, which were all close to the same price each, and they cost a total of around $80 Australian shipped.

Wow, it has come down. I just checked it on Amazon.fr and it was $19.47 converted so it would be about $25 after shipping. Maybe I will snag it after Christmas.

They might make Mickey shoot first, but let's not give them any ideas.

Friday - the director's cut.

Why? I saw this movie so many times as a teen, that specific scenes to this day kill me... and those scenes in the directors cut were given alternate takes that didn't carry the same weight for me. So I've held off on it. If it had both the theatrical and the director's cut on it, then I'd buy it. But no-ah-ah.

I'll keep waiting for a faithful transfer.

In addition to that:

• EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
• THE COLOR OF MONEY
• STAR WARS Original Trilogy
• Disney's FANTASIA because of most extra material being online streaming
• BLACK HAWK DOWN and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN with all the extra stuff from their DVD Special Editions
• The DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY with better transfers and decent extras

Also, I was holding off from getting the JURASSIC PARK set because the first movie looks a little bit overprocessed and shows an ugly purplish push, but the upcoming 3D version trailer made me wary about some unwanted color timing tinkering, so I went for the recent Amazon Lightning Deal.

I think mod pro-bassoonist might have a few things to say about that if he notices your comment. I remember him saying the other day that he is going to contact a few people, to try and get some solid info on it to shut everyone up.

Live Free or Die Hard - Pass until they release the unrated cut

Equilibrium - Pass until they release a stand alone with the proper OAR

Die Hard, Silent Hill, Star Wars. Held off on The Last Emperor until the aspect ratio nonsense was resolved.

This makes sense. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll even see re-releases of films like this based on catalog sales.

It has come down greatly, in fact you could've got for around $12 or so if I remember, G:box did a group buy on it a while back when it was dirt cheap.

At the moment, eXistenZ. Although if it comes up for like $5 or something, I might still jump on it.
