(Probably because although the character is vintage early-Caine, there aren't that many good versions:
"Funeral in Berlin" is good, but "The Ipcress File" drags once the plot is established.
"Billion Dollar Brain" has a good 007-ish setup, but...oh, did we forget to mention, Ken Russell directed that one?--Don't worry, you'll find out. )

And I assume "Sleuth" is the '71 version, not that....other one?

I dont really feel that the batman movies are caine films, granted he is in them but for so little time. he is much better in get carter,Harry brown, zulu, ipcress, man whold be king than he is in any of the bat films.

in terms of movies in which he appeared but didnt star i would say The Dark Knight.

Has to be The Italian Job. Another one of my favorites is Pulp from 1972 where he plays a writer hired to ghostwrite an autobiography of a certain celebrity.
