Like we are discussing here. Don't be discouraged and always take these opinions at face value. It may be true, but how do we know its really good or bad. You decide.

Blair Witch was so bad I felt ripped off after seeing it, but I thoroughly enjoyed Cloverfield.
I will be buying Cloverfield when it comes out on blu-ray.
I thought that the camera movement made the movie feel immersive and creepier.

Agreed. I read a scathing review of 300 where someone was talking about how bad it was because it was historically inaccurate.
A movie based on a graphic novel should not be reviewed on its factuality.
Movies are immensely subjective. Like food on the dinner table, some people will want extra broccoli while others won't even want to look at it.
Usually I only pay attention to reviews if the majority of them lean heavily in one direction.
Of course, you might disagree with my review of reviews.

I didn't have high expectation for this movie anyway. I may still end up renting it though and I apprecaite your "review".

As for cave men movies, I think I'll stick with Quest for Fire - I really like that movie

NO.

****ING.

WAY!

Emmerich hasn't made a decent film in his life, why would he start now?
I warned of this movie's potential suck factor last earlier this year. Emmerich is just a more polish and acceptable version of Uwe Boll. At least Emmerich can be entertaining.

We don't know if it sucks. The OP thought it sucked. So what? Did you see it? Maybe it does suck. Maybe not...

It's got a 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, usually not a good sign.

Though IMBD has a 6.6 rating out of 700 or so reviews, usually a better indicator... it's probably a so-so movie based on this.

But of course, as always, you never know until you see it yourself.

I pretty much figured this would such. The trailer did nothing for me at all. I didn't particularily think this would be that great as The Day After Tomorrow was quite weak and is from director Roland Emmerich as well.

Roland Emmerich's best films ID4 and The Patriot were far better but still far away from being anything that would be considered "classic".

Its just like when I heard the review for Cloverfield and how AWESOME it was. Everone wants it on Blu-ray now. Cloverfield might be one of the G-A-Y movies I have EEEEEEEVER Seen. It had absolutely no point and a grasshopper type monster or whatever. Grasshoppers are'nt scary! My point is one persons opinion does not make it a bad movie.

Or a good movie. Thats up to every individual to decide for them selves.

Exactly, movies are art. And art is pretty much impossible to judge.

I have never been a fan of the way critics review and rate movies with stars etc. I have seen movies like Lord of the Rings get lower "star ratings" than some garbage movies. I am personally more of a fan of an overall thumbs up or thumbs down sort of approach.
