Default Bd-j

I have been looking a bit here. It seems that the BD-J can actually be used for a lot of different things.

I could very well imagine applications like Joost or YouTube have a BD-J client. That would give you access to (the selected) videoes or channels right on your HD TV (through your Blu-ray player).

And there is not really a reason to stop there. Once you have the internet access only your imagination holds you back, - just look at the plugins for HTPC like systems (weater, e-mail, news, a and zillion other things I can't even remember...)

Have I misunderstood something, - or is this correctly?

Default But the coin has two sides, - doesn't it.

All of us paranoid people would'nt dare to play a Blu-ray disc! It might tell all kind of crap about us (well, - to be honest it will probably only be able to tell: Which player you are using, a unique ID of you (your player and/or IP etc. should do this just fine), what you are doing with that disc in the player (i.e. play which parts, pause or fast forward at/to what point etc).

Thank you for the attempt to explain this to me. I think what you are saying is you can create your own menu? I can do things such as tie my shoes and not drool but I don't know what the hell you are saying beyond that. Don't worry about me but if it is not in laymon's terms it won't be easy to sell to the public.

bd-j is alredy hear but most players can`t fully use it such as pip but i think it was oct.31 thats over and full bd-j the rule.

alexkx i am sorry im bad at explaning this but with bd-j u can make the menu a game u can do anything its like an operating system. one thing taht u can do it that if your playrer is profile 1.2 then say u watch a movie in 5 years you wont watch 5 year old trailers theplayer can download new trailers for u to watch

It'll be sold to the public in terms of what special features they are getting. The technology should be invisible to them I'd guess.

Um...I LOVE trailers...and think every film release should have all them related to the film of the disc...but and I mean no offense here...who cares about having trailers updated otherwise? In that sense I would just watch them on the internet. Not that that feature is bad. I'm just saying. Otherwise I think the BD-J sounds really cool! Was this the Blu-Ray menu special thing that seems to have been mentioned in the past?
