Same here. After hearign a report on these forums, sure enough I went into my Best Buy today to find the '30% off all HD' rack right in front, and right behind it, a section of shelves (15-20 ft?) with Blu only.

I was kind of disappointed that they didn't put up an explanation as to WHY everything is 30% off. A lot of people may think that this is just a sale.

Ditto that, .99 cent High Def Media would be awesome!

I went to BBY today (to get my nifty new bluetooth keyboard. this is a godsend) and noticed that the HD DVD's are almost completely blown out. Hardly anything left.

I also had to make a stop at Borders as I had a gift card from Christmas to use. They must have returned all their HD DVD stuff. The rack that had them previously was given over to Blu-ray expansion

30% off is not much of a sale, especially at Best Buy.

Nah $.99 store is too good for them. They sell formats that was once dominant(VHS) and would not take the next Betamax.

I went to the nearest Best Buy on Friday after work, they had no players or displays for players. The HD DVDs were not on sale. I was expecting to see signs, but nothing, It looked like it had all along, the same stock and everything. I guess they didn't get the memo.

I was at a local Best Buy last night and virtually all DUDs were gone. There was a small rack with about 8 or 10 titles, but that was it.

Word from another Best Buy employee member is that this is the only discount. Whatever is left over in a month will be shipped back.

That is true. But we might see a few BOGOs to come, or BOGO Half off

No, you won't. This is the only discount

Any further discount/bogo on HD DVD will be in the form of online blowouts at places like Amazon and DDD

They actually marked up the price to compensate for the 30% off at my Best Buy.

So sad.

30% off of SRP

They're not going to take a loss on them

NOT a deal. 30% off of a $35 HD-DVD is NOT a deal. I consider myself a BB fan at times, but this is crazy. They may have been able to recoup a few bucks, but at this price in my area, they are not moving these at all.

So for it to be a deal, it requires them to lose money is what you're saying? Wholesale is 35%, before shipping and cost of doing buisness
