United Kingdom Deadly Blessing - March 25th

Arrow are releasing Deadly Blessing in March

Torn between waiting for this or going for the Scream Factory release end of this month.

The question I have is the US release is quoted on amazon/this site as 2 minutes longer. So is the UK Arrow disc cut?

Am kind of thinking of ditching Arrow due the ZFE issue, but their DB release is £7 cheaper and has UK exclusive Wes Craven interview

Right ok. Thought the run time was just for the movie and credits. Guess must be mistake. I'll wait for scream release and check out info then. Just thought may be uk is holding back 2 minutes of film.

There's nothing to cut from the film in terms of gore etc...

Scream Factory supplied the HD Master for Arrow to use as they didn't have one when they released the DVD last year.

I'm anxious to read some reviews on the Arrow release before I decide which version to buy, despite the different extras.

The UK Arrow blu-ray edition from Amazon arrived today and the disc won't load. I'm in Australia, theoretically the same region, and have never had any problem playing imported R2 discs before.
I use a Panasonic player, and the message that comes up just says "check disc", rather than the usual warning I've had from the odd region locked US disc.
Maybe some special block Arrow are putting on their discs as I haven't purchased any of theirs before. Would be interested to hear if any other Aussies have encountered this. Bloody annoying.
Cheers!

Check your player for SW updates, might fix the problem.

I too am curious about that Craven commentary. Tho I decided to splurge a little and buy the SF dvd and have the Arrow blu ray on order. So I guess it doesn't really matter since I wanted to give myself the best of both worlds by having all the features from both versions. Either way, am looking forward to checking out that commentary one way or the other. I hear it's fantastic!

Finally sat down to watch this, although I heard a lot of bad things from this forum, I enjoyed myself. The movie was frustratingly dumb at points but the film has some stylish set pieces, effective direction from Craven and Sharon Stone looking her finest.

The commentaries are different. Shout Factory's is moderated by Sean Clark, Arrow's is moderated by David Gregory. Supposed to be a couple of easter eggs on the disc but I've only found one.

Very disappointing film.
[Show spoiler]The film's setting of a rural area of religious fanatics is promising. But the "hittites" turn out to be one big red herring. To keep showing the lead actresses in revealing lingerie is shameless pandering. And do we need that silly cross-dressing bit? Why not just have a girl be infatuated with a girl, instead of having her be a man with that laughably fake man chest makeup? And the shock ending is lousy. Didn't the old guy already say the incubus was dead? I'm glad that, according to Craven, that was a tacked-on ending suggested by the film executives
. Amazon Prime has this film for free streaming, but with lousy picture quality. So I bought this disc just to see a nice restored HD picture.
