Recommend some PS3 games to me. - Blu-ray Forum

Ok, I've had my ps3 for a while now but I've never really played games on it. I'm not that big of a gamer. I have an xbox 360 also and my favorite games on that are BioShock and Gear of War just to give a hint at the games I like. Does anyone have some PS3 game suggestions for me?

Uncharted. It has some of the same cover mechanics as Gears of War. Sort of a cross between Gears and Tomb Raider.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Definitely pick this one up if you are looking for a movie-like experience. My favorite game to date. It is only single-player though....BUT worth it if you ask me.
Warhawk - Get this too. Great multi-player action. I love it.
Heavenly Sword - Great story.....good gameplay. Some people say it's short and it is but I thought it was fine.
Burnout Paradise - Oh, what can I say? Best arcade racer there is!
Motorstorm - Great Rally racer.
Resistance: Fall of Man - I would recommend this. I enjoy this more than I enjoy COD4 but you might like COD4 better.
Call of Duty 4
Devil May Cry 4
Unreal Tournament

Bold: You should add these to your collection. A requirement of being a PS3 owner.

Seeing as you like Gears, Warhawk might be a good fit as long as you like online play. There's no single player.

It's a 3rd person game with capture the flag, deathmatch and zones. Fight on the ground or in the air.

but try out army of two it's almost a clone of gears actually but your a mercenary in a sense

All the games people have said so far. There's games on the PSN store you can get. There's the bowling. Whoever blish is on there he's the master. There's Stardust, Street Fighter Puzzle game. Poker.

Oh, Grand Theft Auto 4 next month. Unless something happens.

Depends on what you like. Some games I own:

Call of Duty 4: Online is probaly one of the best there is right now imo. Will bring you lots of fun if you like war games.

Army of Two: Just started playing this. Great for 2 people to work together. Can also play single player and control a NPC. Haven't tried Multi player yet online. Another war game obviously.

Heavenly Sword: Great storyline and decent game play.Hack and Slash type game. Can't wait for God of War III!

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune: Probably the most visually stunning game I have played. One of those solve the puzzle type to advance,Good storyline. Was a bit to short for me though, wish it was a longer. Reminded me of Indiana Jones.

Assassins Creed: Good game, gets kind of repetitive. Will definitely buy the sequels. Go around assassinating people and figuring out ways to escape etc.

Guitar Hero 3: A game that will make your fingers hurt and give you arthritis

Not much details but tired and thats the basics. Got more but these are the ones I played the most.

The most addicting game: when it comes out this month, will be Hot Shots Golf 5. I've played this series on the PS2 and had it on my PSP. This game will rock... Now in high-def and with online play... lookout man, this series is fun even if you're not a golf-nut like myself. See you on the links!

If you already have a 360 the only things worth getting on ps3 atm are resistance, ninja gaiden sigma and motorstorm. Maybe folklore. Personally i'd buy the rest on 360 for achievements and for a better controller. Unless you're one of those rare people (or fanboys) that like the ps3 controller better. Damn thing cramps my hands up in an hour. Can use the 360 controller all day long and be fine. =/ If ever any 3rd party company comes out with a controller designed like the 360 i'll love my ps3 so much more.

Call of Duty 4 - It just kicks ass

Skate - Very fun game. Blows the Tony Hawk series out of the water. Controls much more like real skating instead of just button pushing. There's a demo in the playstation store if you want to check it out.

Please, don't pass your opinion off as fact. You like the 360 controller better. That does not mean everyone else does.

I just picked up MLB The Show 08, if you're into baseball at all, this is a great game. Otherwise, like many have suggested, Uncharted is great. I've played through that game more then any other that I have ever owned.

COD4 is probably the best FPS available for PS3 right now. Short single player but great online.

Devil May Cry 4 is awesome if you have played any of the other games in the series. Even if you haven't, it's at least worth a rental to see if you would enjoy it.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Resistance unless I missed it. A must have for a PS3 owner, ok not a must have, but a great game since you like FPS. Plus you can probably pick this up used for a very reasonable price.

Other then that, Motorstorm is a fun game, Ninja Gaiden is good, there are some more fun games coming out soon also. Haze should be a good FPS, and Grand Theft Auto is always a classic. Anyway, hope that helps a little.
