So Which edition are people looking at getting?

I currently have the HMV exclusive on pre-order:
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...;-1&sku=641633

There's also this edition
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Skyfall-Blu-...8214179&sr=8-2

But now i am wondering if i should cancel the hmv and order from JB...
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...eelbook/679256

Will the Steelbook likely come with a DVD copy also? similar to the standard UK release

I have the steel-book on order from HMV. But seeing as it comes out over a month earlier there, I might not cancel it after all. It is cheaper.

If it were coming out around at the same time, I would definitely pick it up locally instead.

But I must say, I prefer the standard blu-ray cover artwork much much more.

I would cancel your HMV orders as they are about to fold.

They might not get to dispatch them at all.

I've got the normal editions from Amazon and Amazon UK on order, and i'll stick with whoever releases theirs first (probably Amazon) and i'll also pick up the JB steel when it's released later on

HMV don't take your money until the item ships though do they?
so i'm not in danger of losing my money due to them going under?

If the steelbooks are exactly the same I think i would be happy to cancel the HMV order and go with JB instead, I also rather buy locally, I guess an extra month to wait is no biggie, seeing as I only just saw the movie last week.

It does look like a nice Steelbook. Better cover art than the regular version for sure. Although I'd keep the disc in the Bond 50 box, anyway.

If that's the case then you should be okay. I'd recommend cancelling the order and going with jbhifi. That way you can guarantee getting it.

I doubt there would be any difference in content as both countries are Region B but HMV might not still be around when the details are confirmed

Yeah, HMV only took 2 cents out of my account for the pre-order as confirmation. If they fold... I don't think I'll lose much sleep over it.

Going to have to make a decision soon as to whether I cancel the UK order from HMV of this steelbook to go with JBhifi's, still no more info as yet that I have seen. Not sure which way I will go...

I think it's save to assume that it's been cancelled by default. HMV were a reputable retailer after all.

Just a follow up for those having pre-ordered the HMV Steel: HMV's administrators should be emailing everyone in the next few days to confirm that any pre-orders/orders not charged prior to them going into administration will be cancelled. Anyone concerned regarding this shouldn't have any issues.

That's a shame, I had thought HMV Canada bailed them out... Not too fussed though, JB might have a sale when our copy is released but even $36 is fine for me
Cheers for the update though I fear the email I used on HMV is the one I deleted... :/

I received an email from HMV administrators saying the same as above.
However it said that i would receive an email in next couple of days confirming order cancelled if my order had not been paid for.
Which is the case as it was a pre-order, however i have not received a cancellation email.
I guess i will just assume that its cancelled, and maybe pre-order from JB.
Can you pre-order from JB instore rather than online for Blu's?
I dont like getting it in the mail, wanna pick one up, but also want to pre-order to ensure a copy, mind you i'm guessing they should have plenty on release...

^ It's definitely been cancelled. The allocation originally going to HMV is now going to Amazon UK and is an exclusive with them now. Works out to $24.50 delivered at the moment.

As for JB, yes, you used to be able to pre-order in store. Been quite a while since I did that though!

hmm maybe i should get it from amazon uk, thanks for that.
$24.50 vs $37, bit of a difference, JB's price might come down on release, but i cant see the steelbook going for less than say $28-$30 at JB. Plus release of 18th of Feb vs 27th of Mar, mind you add 2-3 weeks for postage guess may still have in hand couple of weeks before release here...

Thanks for the update! Ordered off Amazon UK, it came out a lot cheaper than HMV anyway from what I remembered.

And I was impressed with the way they packaged the last steelbook I ordered off Ammy UK.

edit: I got the email from HMV about the cancelled order.

Yes! My pre-order from AmazonUK arrived yesterday.
Watched the film last night. Looks excellent.

Still 3+ weeks till it gets released in australian stores. Why the hell would we buy locally when this shit keeps happening?

Anyway, i'm excited, my Bond50 set is now complete
