This would be great if I didn't already own almost half of these already. At $500 I'll pass. When/if this get under $250 I will give it serious consideration.

I almost wanna get the DVD one with 50 more movies, but most the extra ones are either movies I don't want or movies I already own. The 50 blu ray set, now that it's dropped in price, is SO worth getting for just over 7 bucks a movie. Awesome deal.

It really depends on how they package it I think. They mention a book stye packaging, and based on the width, it looks like it could be similar to the Bond 50 set. That set stores 24 discs broken into 2 books, so this set would just have to include 2 additional books, and perhaps make an extra page in each (since this set has 52 discs). I could see them breaking down into certain decade ranges which wouldn't be too hard to navigate.

I'm not going to lie as much as this release will literally be crap (just a big reissue of films under a different studio banner) I'm excited to hear what Tales from the Lot and The V.I.P tour are like. Tales from the Lot airs on TCM (February 3?) but I want to know now

(Edit: No second 2-disc movie; Disc 52 must contain Tales from the Lot and the tour. Again, much like Bond 50.) Last edited by RBBrittain; 01-29-2013 at 01:52 AM. Reason: Expand |

There are only seven or eight titles in the Blu-ray set that I don't already have individually, so I'll pass (although that special one-sheet would be nice). Now if this had come out four years ago, I'd already have it! But since a major percentage of the titles were MGM productions that just happen to be owned by Warner Brothers now, it's pretty ridiculous to call it the Best of Warner Brothers. There are tons of great Warner titles begging for Blu-ray (Busby Berkely, Cagney, Bogart, Flynn, Davis, etc.)

This is the week to buy if you are interested in this collection. For me I regrettable have most of the titles I want already.
Still $184.99 for 50(+) movies. Also the correct title list does not include Citizen Kane, but includes Shawshank Redemption. Last edited by Tns49; 07-07-2013 at 04:14 PM. |

It likely won't get any cheaper than that. The DotW works out to $3.68 a movie. If you're new to Blu-ray, it's a great buy, but I imagine most people have several of the movies included. My collection is relatively small, and even I own 20 of the 50 listed listed.
