United Kingdom Is this Zavvi's chance to shine?

Apologies if anyone feels like this is the wrong place for such a discussion or if you feel this topic may be covered in other threads but with the very recent news of A) Zavvi taking on some HMV and Play exclusives and B) announcing their own exclusives, do you think that they could become a serious contender? Now two huge competitors are on their last legs (Plays confirmed end date and HMV's potential absolute demise) can they really step up to offer UK (or international, not sure of Zavvi's international service) Blu Ray consumers a fantastic service?

I know the main problems have been packaging and stock allocation/ despatch. If they can tackle these two big issues, they could really become a fantastic online retailer.

Customer Service from the Zavvi group has always been terrible. If they were going to change they'd have done it long ago.

I think Zavvi are great. They have some fantastic prices and never had a problem with their customer services either. I ordered Pokemon White 2 from them in October, as they were the cheapest at £25. The next day they dropped the price to £20 in their Mega Monday deals, so I emailed them to ask if there was any chance of a refund. By the evening it had sold out, so I couldn't very well threaten to order again and return the £25 one, but they refunded me the £5 without a problem.

Also, unlike tight arse Amazon and Play they actually issue discount codes on a regular basis.

Haters gonna hate.

Ditto, I don't mind waiting an extra day or so, everything's always arrived in the end, & their prices are very good.

Had no problem with Zavvi thus far. Decent prices and they have never let me down. Sure, they ain't the fastest with despatch sometimes but really, what's the rush?

Yeah I haven't had good experiences with Zavvi. Last order I made was a CD pre-order that dispatched 4 days after release. I'd previously ordered some really cheap blu rays which I ended up cancelling six weeks after ordering after constantly being told that they would "dispatch soon" and that'd just be another week.

Zavvi is great if you don't expect anything in time.
Personally, I don't mind - items will arrive when they'll arrive.

This is the part of their service that they really need to address though.

Hopefully. Even the Iron Man Play steelbook didn't sell out as fast as this one seemed to.
