So I was perusing the iMDB message boards earliers and one of them was on topic about some of the most disturbing movie scenes. Whether they be racial violence, violence againsts women or from a horror movie. So that makes me ask, what are some of most disturbing scenes from movies you've seen? Some of mine are:
American History X: Derek making the guy put his teeth on the sidewalk and then stomping his head in. Alien: Chest-burster scene. 'Nuff said. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning: Leatherface cutting off Eric's face and wearing it himself as Eric's girlfriend watches on in horror. I'm sure I'll think of more or remember some when other reply, but that's what I got for now. |

A Clockwork Orange - I hate stuff with eyes so the Ludovich experiment for me, although the singing in the rain sequence is also tough to watch.
Requiem for a Dream - Final 10 minutes, especially that Hugh Hefner type uttering those words. The Exorcist - Catholic Cross in the ... ![]() Last edited by Foggy; 01-23-2013 at 10:31 PM. Reason: Shielding the younglings eyes! |

While I haven't seen it, Cannibal Holocaust. I read about how they killed real animals for the film. |

The thing that has always scared me is something that I can't even remember properly -- maybe one of you fine people can help me. I don't want to turn this into the "what film is this?" thread, but this whole topic has reminded me of something I haven't thought of in years.
Basically, when I was little, I saw part of a film; the scene I saw was with a lady sitting on a chair, and a vampire that crawls underneath it and bites her on the ankle. That's pretty much all I remember. I'm sure the room was white, also, but I can't be certain. That messed with my head pretty bad; I hated the thought of vampires after that, and couldn't watch anything with them in - even children's cartoons. |

The 11 minute, uninterrupted rape scene in Irreversible. This was, bar none, the most disturbing thing i'd ever seen. Then i watched the uncut version of "A Serbian Film" - and suddenly Irreversible's rape scene was bumped a few spots down the list. A Serbian Film has one that tops Irreversible's rape scene, and just about everything else in that movie is right up there with it. Does it "bother me"? No, but it's some of the most disturbing and depraved shit i've ever witnessed on film.
Also, the entire opening scene to Irreversible caused some of my "gore hound" friends to leave the room, and even get physically sick. |

This. I have alotta trouble sitting through rape scenes. "Derailed" (
[Show spoiler] ), "A Clockwork Orange", the original "The Last House on the Left"... pretty much any movie that involves the violation of a woman. I think it might be due to my having grown up in a home with a single mother. It seems to have made me very sensitive about things like that. Actually took me a coupla times to get through "A Clockwork Orange", but after I did, I loved the movie!
