Its like they don't want to make money on Transformers to think this movie could sell a million copies in a weekend on Blu but they don't say anything for over a month its crazy thats like a 30 million dollar weekend for a movie released months ago come on

Are you suggesting that Paramount will announce tomorrow (March 11)?

If they do, then you will TRULY be known as The Don.

If they don't, we might add the letter "g" to the end of your screen name.

(Just playing with you)

The only announcement that I can remember coming on tuesday is the Warner Brothers bit which was on tuesday to beat the event on the weekend.
All others came on a friday.
But all and all none of that matters because Paramount are irritating worthless sacks of ....well you get the idea.
There will be Blood, Cloverfield, Sweeney Todd are all being jeopardized because of their stupidity.

Still nothing. It appears they have no real interest in making any kind of announcement to push the BD format. After two months you would have thought some titles would be announced.

These studios need to hurry-up because it's slim pickings for the movies that's upcoming for me. I am not at all impressed with alot of the upcoming Titles. They are quite a few movies that were HD-DVD Exclusives that i want to see. I love my PS3 Blu-ray Player but feel tempted many times to buy a cheap HD-DVD player just to watch some of those HD movies.

Does anyone get the feeling that something bigger must be going on? I mean, really, the insiders are saying nothing on releases and it has been AGES. If the BDA is behind this they better knock our socks off when the release slate comes out.

I'm so sick of waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /end rant

I continue to wonder if the replication facilities are now overloaded with the sudden end of the format war. It seems the production cycle is about 4 months and we will start hearing some release news from Uni and Paramount within the next couple of months. Of course I could be completely wrong because I am on outsider with respect to the HDM industry. I formed the 4 month cycle theory from reading through the insider forums over the past year and a half. The other issue could be legal stuff because of their previous HD DVD deals.

This issue reminds of a question I often wonder about - how much time does it take to prepare and complete a good Blu-Ray transfer.

You guys are getting a little crazy. Previous posts by insiders suggest an average of 6-9 months to get a title through the process. Again, that's just an average and takes into account the production side of the house.

Now imagine ramping up an entire release slate heading into the 2nd half of the year because you don't want to release 6 titles and then go dormant until November. I'm sure a handful of titles will be fast tracked though.

I reached out to my contact who works on Blu-Ray at Sony. He said he's tentatively hearing June for Universal. Given a normal 2 month or so lead time, I wouldnt expect to be hearing anything until around April.

Paramount, I have no idea what their deal is. One would think they could get titles out a bit faster since they had some basically ready to go before the f'd Blu-Ray owners. I think their situation is more to do with wanting a steady flow. We know what the first titles will be...

I own both blu-ray and hd-dvd player but since toshiba drops the prodution of player I'd rather buy blu-ray disc than hd-dvd. Those players are'nt built forever so when my hd-dvd will break down I hope I won't have too much hd-dvd titles...
