Rating and becoming a fan

Hello to all!

I have a few questions/suggestions.

1. Some movies, mostly available on DVD, for example Frankenfish (2004) do not have a rating option and/or "Become a fan" button. Why?

2. What does the "Add new movie" and "Create Blu-ray/DVD" links exactly do? For example on the page of "Life on Earth" (https://www.blu-ray.com/Life-on-Earth/135963/).

3. What does the "Add to collection" button do? Can I add movies I do not have currently to my collection? (Some movies miss this button, too.)

4. How can I embedd a poll to my posts?

5. It would be good to add a "Want it on Blu-ray" button to the movies that haven't been released in HD yet. It could be a kind of petition.

1: you can only rate a movie and become a fan when the theatrical release is added to the DB. The title you're referring to is just a single DVD release while there is no theatrical entry. When a release is linked to a theatrical entry, you can click on the title of your DVD/Blu-ray release and it's taking you to the theatrical entry.
A theatrical entry is a general page about the movie.

2: when you're at a theatrical entry page (see above) you can add a DVD/Blu-ray release of that movie to the database.

3: Yes, you add releases you do not own and file them under your Wishlist or Ordered categories for example.
Of course this can only be done on actual DVD or Blu-ray release pages. The pages you're saying don't have an "Add" button are theatrical release pages.
I think you're confusing disc release and theatrical release pages.

I think this thread should be moved to the Newbie Discussion section (no offense).
It might be of help to others too.

You'll have to start a new thread to post a poll. When creating a new thread, down toward the bottom of the page, under additional options, you'll see a section that states "Post a poll". You'll need to check the "Yes, post a poll with this thread".

1. Can I add a theatrical entry page to a movie or only admin and moderators can do this?

2. I saw the option "Post a poll with this thread", but could you tell me how does it actually work? Will I be taken to a create poll page before the thread is posted?

You can create a theatrical entry as well.
Just be sure to have all the required information at hand.

Thanks for the info. I also found a way to add a poll to an existing thread just in case you forgot it.
You can use the thread tools menu item on the top of the page and choose the post a poll option on the left.
You can subscribe to the thread this way, too, by choosing the Subscribe option.
