My favorite is the Tarantino Box set then I would have to say my Terminator Anthology. I'm not into all that technical stuff so idc about their being a re-release, I just love having all the terminators in one amazing box set

Then, for the rest, I would have to say Looper, The Dark Knight, and The Avengers are my favorite general blus of last year. Wish I could have gotten in on that avengers metal pack but oh well... (If anyone wants to sell theirs, PM me )

Enjoyed the most? Hmmm, there were a *lot* of good releases in 2012 but Universal's Hitchock and Classic Monster sets might have been the most fun. They were definitely worth the wait.

Universal Classic Monsters
Hitchcock Collection
Melancholia
Chinatown
Rosemary's Baby

(Dragon Tattoo, Chronicle, Rebecca, The Apartment, MoC's Double Indemnity, World on a Wire, Jaws, Lawrence, Streetcar, To Kill a Mockingbird...the 'just missed' list could go on and on)

Five that come to mind...

Letter Never Sent
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Grey
Lawrence of Arabia
Universal Monsters: The Essential Collection

Honorable mentions:

Casablanca
The newly-released James Bond Blu-rays.
Jaws, Indiana Jones, E.T.
High Noon
Purple Noon
Godzilla

John Carter
The Avengers

The Poseidon Adventure
Lawless

Of course, since I happened to buy my first Blu-ray player in 2012, my whole collection consists of my favorite Blu-rays of 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises. Yeah on a technical level, it may not have been the best quality blu ray as far as picture and sound go, but it had that big, movie theater feel that I strive to recreate at home (why else would I buy a surround sound system?) This is one of the few movies that has done that successfully. Not to mention the movie itself is pretty darn good.

I thought Rises was one of the best sounding blurays I've EVER heard ... I couldn't even watch it as loud as I normally watch movies ... just an amazing audio track!!!!

Prometheus
I don't usually bother with special features, but I watched that entire documentary(admittedly in chunks), and thought it was a great look into that film's messy development.
Game of Thrones: Season One
Great picture and the first season is an amazing adaption of the first book.
Drive
Took me over a year to rewatch this movie(saw it in theaters), cuz I was worried that it wouldn't hold up to repeat viewings. I was wrong.
The Grey
Only got to watch like thirty minutes in the theater, but I was super impressed after it had been marketed as Liam Neeson vs Wolves film and it turned out be something else entirely. Also, dat airplane scene.
Elite Squad: Enemy Within
Such a surprise, especially after hearing bad things about the first movie. Probably one of the few sequels that work better without having seen the prior film.

I gotta watch more of my 2012 releases.

Me, too. I remember hearing people on here complain about the bass being too boomy and Bane's voice being too loud, though (I actually agree with that, but I sort of liked how his voice sounded. Made the character seem that much more imposing) There was also criticism on the film's lack of surround activity.

Unless something fantastic comes to BD in the next 11 months it's probably going to be Dredd for 2013.
