Cypher is well worth seeing for a great performance from Jeremy Northam, some very nice cinematography and a mesmerising soundtrack. It isn't horror, its more a mystery and a high tech espionage film with a touch of existentialism. The Aussie Blu isn't worth buying as Cypher is only in 1080i

it is worth the upgrade for the PQ/AQ over the dvd. can't say if it is the best bluray available.
from what I remember reading one reviewer thought this UK Disk is better and also worse in parts when compared to the dutch Disk

I'll never understand people's obsession with extras. All I care about is the movie itself. What pisses me off most about BD releases is when a movie has multiple cuts and the idiots only put one on the BD.

I don't know why it's so hard to understand. It's very simple. Some people (like yourself) just want to watch the movie. Many others enjoy learning more about the movie aswel as having the option to merely watch it. It's the same as anyone wanting to study anything else. It fascinates them and they feel passionately about it.

I, personally, enjoy the extras because it gives you a glimpse into a world rarely seen, and allows you to see how professional/unprofessional the atmosphere on the set appears to be. You get to see true artists do their work -- you essentially get to see everyone at a stage where they don't know if the movie is going to be a success or complete failure, and they're making it as best they can.

Plus, I want to be a film-maker myself, so as much exposure to that world as possible is the way forward.

A great deal of the time it gives me a different perspective on the film and adds to my appreciation of it.

Seems like the original Cube is coming out in japan soon. Will be interesting to see if it's the same transfer with even higher bitrate or something special
