Germany Nobody ist der Größte (Terence Hill, Klaus Kinski, Patrick McGoohan) - 1. March 2013

Nobody ist der Größte Blu-ray

Nobody ist der Größte (not sure what the English title is) will be released in Germany on March 1, 2013. Hopefully it is English friendly!

Nobody ist der Größte

Also hopefully "Nobody's the Greatest" will see the BD world uncut. Former DVD releases in germany missed some fragments.
Former DVDs were with english audio, so there is hope on english audio.

According to imbd the English title is either A Genius, Two Partners, and a Dupe or A Genius, Two Friends, and an Idiot.
the release is from Universum, which is the same label that released My Name is Nobody which has English subs and the English dub, so odds are good this release will feature the same.

Fake blu-ray. Fake, fake, fake.
The original negatives were stolen after the movie was filmed, in post-production phase. Look at the DVD, the director originally built the movie from various sources left, since the film had been stolen. There is no 35 mm footage available anywhere.

Seems that it got different names in english.

...but I have to admit, that the names you mentioned seeming more common.

If there was, after the original negatives were stolen, no 35mm footage left, how was it possible to show the movie in theatres?
Original negatives are not the only source which may deliver HD quality. Even if it may be the best possible source. But it is possible to use 35mm film. It may be not as good as a good original negative, but it is still a 35mm source.
The front only says that they did a new master, but they mentioned no source.

Thought this film's photography looked incredibly disappointing when I saw this on dvd. Whoever stole the original film negatives (and offered them for an unpaid ransom) should have been lynched - alt. takes and lesser shots abound. A visually poor film (with understandable reasons). I won't buy this movie.

Actually I may have changed my mind: Having just been very impressed with the excellent 70 min documentary on Universum's My Name Is Nobody, if this release contains something similar, I'll certainly pick up a copy for my Leone collection.

I'm still confused. I've read tons of articles about this movie being "lost".

The original negatives were stolen & offered for ransom. The producers didn't pay and instead created another version from alternate takes. The end result is quite disappointing imo.

Eh? It'll be the one shown theatrically - created from alt. takes. If the original version had miraculously appeared, I'm sure we would have heard about it.

What are the specs? How is the quality?

There's a comment on Amazon that the ending is missing. What about that?

The Sequenz with nobody sitting at the end is included. the amazon.de comment is on the older DVD release. But "schnittberichte.com" reports that there is still a small sequence missing, which was shown in old Versions, and some really short violence cuts which were never shown in Germany.

Also it misses the End Credits.

Quality is okay. Some scenes seem a bit lower Quality (like the former missing scene at the end), some scenes seem quite fine. I'll try to grab some shots later today.

And here we have a BD Info Scan:

So here are some Screengrabs:

as you can see we have some scenes, where quality seems from a different source reinserted. It is not as pristine as anyone would hope, but it is not that bad, that I would regret buying it.
