Default Was this a good deal? Def. Tech Prosub 800

Hello all, I've been looking for a better sub for our dedicated theater room to replace the 12 year old 200w cerwin vega 12inch I have been using for forever. I stopped in best buy and they had their open box table in magnolia set up. They had a open box Definitive technologies Prosub 800 for 229.00 I went and looked at it and noticed another sign that said it was another 60% off so I picked it up for $102.00 retail was 450.00. Has a few chips in the wood but is in very good shape hooked it up and this little 8 inch sub has some balls . I am still tunning it and getting used of the settings on it but I'm pretty impressed. The room is 13x18 and I was worried it would be underpowered for the room but moving it around and calibrating it is asking it sound better. Think I got a decent sub at a decent price? It's not as loud as my cerwin vega, but the vega tended to bottom out and sounded muddy and didn't have LFE output so it is hard to tune. What do you think?

I don't think you can go wrong for that price, now try to use both, try to find a good spot where you CW sounds better and enjoy better bass.

I don't know. I mean, it's a great deal and all, but now you have to keep looking out the window for the cops. You get busted for theft, and then you have to come up with bail money, lawyers fees, dry cleaning costs for your orange jumpsuit, and of course, bribe money for the judge.

That adds to the cost. I really have to think about it. $102? Burn the receipt, you don't want anybody to know you got away with it.

Finally got some pics off my phone of the Prosub 800 I have better ones I will post tonight. This thing packs a massive punch and I can't believe the sound from something this small.

I would say that is a smokin deal! Congrats. I've been watching ebay, and refurbed pro sub 800's are going for $285. A week ago they were as low as $225. I think you made a good purchase. And by the way, that looks great in white.
