Oddly enough I usually agree with most critics. I can't really think of one at the moment.

edit: The Hours. That's one I didn't like at all.

First off, this thread is for movies you thought were GOOD but instead were labeled BAD BY THE CRITICS. Not the other way around.

The Four Feathers
The Forgotten
I <3 Huckabees
House of Flying Daggers
The Cat in the Hat
Enemy at the Gates
The Island

Alien 3 was mediocre at best. Fincher was way too rushed with the film. Was not his fault though. I will buy all 3 on Blu-ray eventually (forget the God-awful 4th). However, it is Alien and Aliens that will have the most re-watchability for me. LOVE both of them so much.

As for films I liked but critics hated:

The Hot Chick
Across the Universe
Hollow Man
The Day After Tomorrow
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Awake
Captivity
The Other Sister
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
The Heartbreak Kid
Tommy Boy
10,000 B.C.
Funny Games
Semi-Pro
Rambo
Fred Claus
P2
Jumper

etc. etc. etc.

Among many others, I'll go with Spider-Man 3.

Here's a few movies in my DVD collection that were trashed by enough critics to rate as "rotten" at Rotten Tomatoes' web site:

The Jackal (1997) - 13% on RT
The Mummy - 52% on RT

Some of the other movies I looked up from my DVD collection were actually treated better by critics than I suspected. These actually passed the 60% threshhold into "fresh" territory:

Mystery Men (1999) - 63% on RT
U-571 (2000) - 66% on RT
Team America: World Police Unrated (2004) - 77% on RT
Cliffhanger (1993) - 78% on RT
Buckaroo Banzai (1984) - 68% on RT
The Rock (1996) - 62% on RT

I guess I just don't own very many movies on DVD or BD that suck.

BTW, Alien3 really did suck. But it wasn't so much the fault of David Fincher as it was all the various producers meddling with the project. It's one of the most badly paced movies I've ever seen. Talky philosophizing snooze-fest. Then an Alien attack. Back to snoozing for awhile. Then another Alien attack. More snoozing. Back and forth. By the time we have the big ending Sigourney Weaver wanted hardly anyone in the theater gives a hoot.

Yeah. And they went for the CGI too. I mean, I know it was cutting-edge technology, but it was way too fake. Cameron and Scott proved less is more, and puppets are the best (especially in this series). Alien and Aliens will forever be the best two of the saga.

I have to agree with the critics on Battlefield: Earth. I want those 2 hours of my life back

I liked Across the Universe more than the critics though...except for that Eddie Izzard part.
