Default THX certifited Blu-ray movies

Hey everyone,

Can anyone tell me what some THX blu rays are available? The Lucasfilm THX finder really sucks.

Perhaps what were the releases this years?

Maybe we can make a list? Feel free to copy and add on.

But that wasn't a list.

I was hoping we all could create a master list maybe?

No offense, but does anyone really care about THX anymore?

It doesn't except to Disney. They were the one studio that kept licensing THX certification for years after all the others had stopped. Looking back, it's not surprising to see why Lucas sold his businesses to Disney. They were the ones consistently giving him money all the time.

I like the exclusiveness of it. My laserdisc titles had it, my dvd do and I grew up when many more cinemas were certified.

I think the Skynet edition of Terminator 2 is THX-certified... which tells you all you need to know about what it's worth.

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. I just think it's a meaningless acronym nowadays...

Well, if it isn't a meaningless acronym, it would have to signify something.
What is it supposed to signify? Some specified level of quality?

Titanic 3d is, it has that THX3d Blufocus certification. I had never seen that before on any movies. Alien Anthology is also THX certified as well.

From what I remember, it was always supposed to signify a quality standard.

Because no one has really used it seriously for years, and because it's not really a benchmark of quality or anything anymore. It's fallen out of general use, so it doesn't really carry any weight. Not like it did back in the laserdisc era you're talking about, when getting a THX disc actually meant something.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

OP, sorry to see that you've kinda been hasseled in and about your thread; but i guess you kinda expected that.

i'm not one of them, but, some folks don't care about Mr. Lucas or anyone who seems to care about him or anything to do with him.

good luck with your thread!

I'm not sure what George Lucas has to do with anything...
If THX puts their seal of quality on a blu-ray on a crappy, DNR-slathered old transfer, then it clearly means nothing.

THX used to mean something. A good housekeeping seal of approval if you will. Unfortunatly, not so much anymore. I lost a bit of faith when they came out with the THX Select brand for lesser quality gear. The DVDs and Blu-rays though still have to meet certain standards in order to get the logo and or treatment. I am a huge G. Lucas supporter but not so much a thx fan anymore.
