There's always hope. With Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring hitting theaters in 2013, maybe Sony will finally release Marie Antoinette. (IMDB and Wikipedia indicate that Kirsten Dunst is in The Bling Ring, too.)

I hope and pray that you're right about that! I've been waiting on this release since I first converted to blu-ray, and the fact that it hasn't yet seen the light of day makes me .

Lost in Translation was released on blu ray when Somewhere came out, so you might be right. Although it's not the greatest transfer in the world, the Lost in Translation blu ray was an upgrade over the HD DVD. I have the French version of Marie Antoinette and it's gorgeous, so fingers crossed!

Hey, thanks for the review of the French version. It's good to know the picture and sound are good. I also want to order this from Amazon.com Fr, but my only worry is about the shipping: I have heard if you order standard shipping from Amazon.co Fr and ship things to the U.S., sometimes they bungle your order, it gets ruined, and/or it gets returned and marked as undeliverable. I am thinking of going the second-fastest shipping route then. Did you have any problems? Thanks for answering!

And picture wise, what is it like, specifically? Thanks!

This movie would look beautiful on Blu-ray. It's one I've been wanting for forever. Cannot for the life of me understand why it has taken so long for it to be released.

Nah I live in the U.S. and have ordered from Amazon.fr several times and have had ZERO problems with standard shipping. In fact, the blus came earlier than I expected.
