Default I Am Legend..Biggest blu-release yet?!

I'm not sure.. someone please school me.. but up to now Wasn't 'Casino Royale' or '300' the biggest Blu title as far as sales go? First week at least correct? What was the number?

So how many copies do you think 'I Am Legend' will sell? Could this be the possible first 'million seller' for first week sales or at least close to it? It's been the #1 seller on Amazon for a few weeks now so i'm positive it will be huge.. but the question is how huge? Predictions please..

no. its not going to beat 300 numbers, not going to be even close to 1,000,000, itll be somwhere between 80k and 120k.

I think the 1st million seller will be The Dark Knight.

Can't disagree with that. Even if the movie ends up sucking.. it'll still be a big blu release.

I believe Spider-Man 3 or Pirates 3 holds the record for sales in the first week. I think it was around 180,000 or something. I could be wrong though.

Sales of IAL might break some records, because the PS3 and Blu-ray player base is much larger than ever before.

Batman Begins I believe will break records when it is released in July. Maybe not a million but much more than any other release up to that point.

No catalogue title will ever break any records as far as sales. Not even SW, because they just don't advertise that way. The only ones who will buy them are us nerds because we keep up with those sorts of things.

No way. Not enough consumers to break any records.

Agree in general, but somehow I suspect if/when Star Wars is released for the first time ever on a high-definition medium, it will garner some pretty extensive press/marketing.

That's what I'm thinking.

I believe Pirates 3 is #1 for first week BD sales, and that was released at the beginning of December. There's lots more players that have been sold over the past 3 months, and don't forget all of the HD-DVD converts that will be buying this on BD instead of HD-DVD.

It definitely has a chance of breaking the first week BD sales.

Talking IMO the record breaker will be....

Transformers when it hits blu...everyone and their brother has been screaming for it and it will be a "If you own a bluray player, you NEED this movie" movie. Just my quick 2 cents....

I believe I Am Legend has a chance to set some records or do really well. My reasoning:

This is the 1st big block-buster release since the format war has ended.

Therefore, all the former HD-DVD supporters are probably buying Blu now.

Also all the people who were holding out on HD-DVD/Blu Ray until the format war was over will also be buying Blu Ray.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some increasing numbers for sales of I Am Legend.

Frankly, it'll probably sell really well because it's a movie I will be watching because my girlfriend wants to see but frankly, I have no interest in it at all. Trailers and everything I saw for it sucked mightily and I've seen both movies from which this one is based and both are awful.
